Re: Tweeting Photobooth with Thermal Printer

There's nothing there about halftoning. If you want control of it, do it yourself, and send the B&W bitmap to the printer pre-processed. This takes trial and error. It won't work perfectly with every image. IM has some good words about Quantization that might be helpful. there is a foomatic driver ...

Re: Tweeting Photobooth with Thermal Printer

These aren't really designed for photo quality: gritty black and white is about all you can get out of them. Yes i know but can you please help me to find out that where to edit/ change the value to get the desired or different value of halftones? i checked the files of the driver and i have found ...

Re: Tweeting Photobooth with Thermal Printer

I was going for a deliberate aesthetic: using the grainy Atkinson dither as used by HyperCard on Macintosh. It was also a sly wee homage to Christine Love's “Interstellar Selfie Station”, an app that produced pictures like the Gameboy Camera. All the pictures from Toronto Maker Festival are on Elmw...

Re: Power on / off button for Pi

You can make a shutdown button without the need for a running script by adding this to /boot/config.txt: dtoverlay=gpio-shutdown The default pin for the above is pin 5 (GPIO3). If you plan to use I2C then you will need to change the shutdown pin to something else. For example to change the shutdown...

Re: Rapberry Pi 3 - USB Power supply

That is true for part of the discharge mode. To approach the claimed capacity you need to go below 1.2 volts. Yes, but the problem is the initial voltage, if, as the OP asked about, you are trying to run directly from batteries without an intervening regulator. 4 NiMH batteries in series could be e...

Re: How To: FAST Boot Time?

Also define what you mean by "booted". The kernel is usually running in less than 10 seconds on all of my machiines. It's starting up all the services (some of which may not be needed) that takes the time from kernel starting /sbin/init to the system being usable. systemd-analyze blame can help you...

Have you timed it? Is it really 1 minute 30 seconds?
My Pi0 turns on and is responsive well within less than a minute. Usually less than 30 seconds, even.
do you have Rpi Zero W?

Re: How To: Open the CUPS web interface from ACCESS POINT(Wifi)?

You have an RPi running CUPS? From recollection CUPS automatically creates a web server for remote administration? You have a WiFi access point. Associate your RPi with that access point. You have a tablet, presumably with a WiFi interface? Associate your tablet with your WiFi access point. Now you...

Your question doesn't make sense. If you want to make the CUPS web interface accessible from any machine on your LAN (wired or wireless) then follow the instructions at: https://www.howtogeek.com/169679/how-to-add-a-printer-to-your-raspberry-pi-or-other-linux-computer/ Actually my setup is almost h...

Why do you want/need to build this from source?
