Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

... I modified fn_lighttpd () a little bit: Is that correct? Thanks. I have corrected the missing quote. I changed the match to only be beginning of line to avoid the other substitutions. Can't find the modifications. When I'm looking at https://github.com/silvanmelchior/RPi_Cam_Web_Interface, is t...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

. I have added test lighttpd support into install.sh in GitHub. This should allow different subfolders and ports, but not user /password authentication yet. I have not tested this with a real camera system. Many thanks! I've tested it. - In the line server.document-root = "/var/www/html> in the con...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I haven't done any work with lighttpd but it shouldn't be too bad as the web site rquirements and changes are fairly modest. If we can work out the manual changes needed then I'd see if this can be added to install.sh as a etxra web server option. I think I would start off by taking install.sh and ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hello @all, I'm still using an old "RPi Cam Control v6.0.1", in combination with lighttpd as webserver. Therefore I modified the script "RPi_Cam_Web_Interface_Installer.sh", mainly disabling the "apt-get install" for apache. Now I would like to update to the new version. So I have to use and modify ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Apart from the possible duplication in rc.local of autostart I think the latest is working now so first step would be to update, install, reboot. If not working at that stage do a ./RPi_Cam_Web_Interface_Installer.sh stop then starrt There should be 2 copies of raspimjpeg in the ps list if it is wo...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I installed about 8 hours ago. I checked https://github.com/silvanmelchior/RPi_Cam_Web_Interface, but could not find a newer commit. "latest commit 705b0e15ee" There had been further problems other than those jbeale mentioned, maybe specific to my constellation. So I would like to revert to an olde...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I've used the RPi Cam Web Interface (older revision) successfully about a week ago. Now I did an update to v6.0.1. The Interface is unfortunately not working any more. All attempts to repair have failed. How can I go to an older commit? Which one is recommended? There was a fix posted about an hour...

The foundation states: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/power/README.md "The device is powered by a 5V micro USB supply. Exactly how much current (mA) the Raspberry Pi requires is dependent on what you connect to it. We have found that purchasing a 1.2A (1200mA) power s...

.. If you had other stuff installed before it is possible that www-data does not have a shell configured check /etc/passwd, the entry for www-data should end in :/var/www:/bin/sh You're right, here it ends ":/usr/sbin/nologin". Do you also have a hint, how I can change this? Just edit /etc/passwd ?...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hello, after some time not using this very good tool (used it early 2014 on my old Raspberry Pi B (not+)), I've tried to install all programs and scipts on a new Pi 2, like described at http://elinux.org/RPi-Cam-Web-Interface. I slightly modifed the shell script (RPi_Cam_Web_Interface_Installer.sh),...

Re: PI 2 Memory

To add to that, the raspberry pi doesn't have a maximum SD card capacity. You just have to make sure it is formatted as FAT32, not the default of exFAT which takes effect on SD cards over 32 GB. Only the boot partition should be formatted as FAT32. But this is done automatically, when you install r...

Re: RaspberryPi Camera for Astrophotography

Hi Gordon 77,

Unforntunately I did not set the hardware for me, but I'm always very interested in your improvements to the python code.
A friend from our local astronomy club owns the raspberry, camera and some good telescopes, and I want to show him your solution.

Many thanks in advance,

Great idea, good documentation.
I'll have a look at the local fablab (at university, open also for non-students), there are 3D printers available sometimes at weekend.

I also discovered these usb disconnect messages about 2 -3 weeks ago. (after i did a rpi-update, about 2013-09-24). I don't have an extra hub, only WLAN stick and logitech keyboard stick. The only workaround was to use an old firmware echo sudo rpi-update e3e89868ece21abe525dc181c431c8a8b5de58b8 Sin...

Re: RaspberryPi Camera for Astrophotography

Hopefully you can unzip the .py attached. You will need the latest version of Raspistill in /home/pi as my program calls ./raspistill.... wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/7g3ps83a2rrxtp0/raspistill chmod a+x raspistill You will need python-serial installing, using 'sudo apt-get install python-serial'...
