[SOLVED] Getting desktop running in x86 linux (via qemu & chroot)?

I got it working!!!
My problem was A, in the bashrc file,
change:
export DISPLAY=:01
to export DISPLAY=:0

AND, I didn't have to have a desktop installed IN
the CHROOT/QEMU linux - I just launch them in
a X-terminal with CHROOT running in it!

Solved!

Re: I managed to get Dolphin running on a Pi 2?!? (VERY SLOWLY)

Your post is solved (I think). I have got GL ALMOST working, via this: https://www.novaspirit.com/2019/04/15/run-x86-arm/ Follow it, but skip installing WINE. Make sure to install Cg-GL from NVIDIA via dpkg from: https://developer.nvidia.com/cg-toolkit Then, compile Dolphin from source inside the CH...

Re: Converting .iso to .bin

.iso files are binary, as far as I know. So you don't need to rename
the file or anything. You should just be able to rename the ending
if you really want a .bin file, but otherwise, just boot it as the CD-ROM
drive, and there should be no problem.

Re: I managed to get Dolphin running on a Pi 2?!? (VERY SLOWLY)

No, I can't unfortunately. Dolphin 5 requires a 64-bit CPU and my RPi 2 is Rev 1.1, which means that it is 32-bit only unfortunately. However, IF you could use Chroot and qemu-x86_64 (is there a such thing) I believe there would be a chance of me getting Dolphin 5 running then. Also, I found out tha...

Getting desktop running in x86 linux (via qemu & chroot)?

Hello, I tried this tutorial on getting Wine running on my Rpi 2 V1.1, https://www.novaspirit.com/2019/04/15/run-x86-arm/ which should work, and it does - until I try to install a desktop so I can run Wine. Installing lxde and xfce4 went successfully. Then, with the command "startlxde", I get an err...

My Raspbian OS lost all its menu items (except a few)!

Hello everyone, I have a Pi 2 running a (mostly) up to date Raspbian system. I used the image for a while, and everything was fine (except for crashing my system by RAM overloads) for a while... Then, one day I booted up my system, and all my menu items except the "Main Menu", Wifi & Bluetooth indic...

Does anyone know about a Dolphin 3 Source Code snapshot hiding somewhere on the web?

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone can give
me a link to an old dolphin 3.0 or 3.5 source code
snapshot sitting on some website. If you ask
why I want this, see this forum thread:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 8&t=248950

Thanks,

Re: I managed to get Dolphin running on a Pi 2?!? (VERY SLOWLY)

I was wondering what the "VPS" was in the top bar in the Dolphin window. The reason is, I was getting 60-100% which I am guessing means near fullspeed emulation? The graphics, of course, were a complete bottleneck although I did get 1fps instead of like 0.3fps when using the dolphin 4.0 "hotfixes" s...

Re: I managed to get Dolphin running on a Pi 2?!? (VERY SLOWLY)

So... I tried with USE_GLES as well, and it didn't change the video outputs available. :x If you try running Dolphin in a terminal, you will see that it is using GLES, but it seems as if GLES just calculates the graphics and passes it on to SDL to render or something wierd like that - forgive me! Re: I managed to get Dolphin running on a Pi 2?!? (VERY SLOWLY)

One of the things I was wondering
about is if you know of any way to route
the graphics rendering to anything but
Software Renderer as that is the slowest
rendering available and yet this fork does
not want to give me any other options
such as GL or Direct 3D...

I managed to get Dolphin running on a Pi 2?!? (VERY SLOWLY)

I've seen a lot of posts on trying to get Dolphin running on the Pi, and whether or not it will run. After fiddling around with the CMakeLists.txt file for a bit, I managed to successfully configure and compile Dolphin - Please note that this version of Dolphin did not come from the Dolphin website ...

Re: Can I use a 5 Volt 3 Amp power supply for my RPi2?

Ok... I am not using a standard PSU, I am using a power bank which gives 2.1A out of one port, and 1A out of the other. So I thought of joining the two outputs by clipping and soldering 2 micro usb cables to make 3A. I am doing this because my pi 2 gives me the power warning (lightning) symbol when ...

My pi WILL NOT let me USB boot!

Hello, I am new here, so if I am missing some step, please tell me. I have a Pi 2 B Rev 1.1 and I want to install Debian from USB. So I used a tutorial found in the Other/Debian/ forum, and in there is a post named: HOWTO: Install Debian armhf on the pi 2/3 So, I made the installer, and tested it wi...

Is there any workaround?

Re: A good battery for the Pi 3B+?

I briefly tried making a laptop with my pi (wooden case, wireless keyboard + mouse) and I used an Aukey 20000 mAh power bank (find it on amazon), which had 2 ports, a 1 amp port, the other 2.1 amps. It worked with my Pi 2b, but I constantly got the lightning bolt warning and some flickering pixels. ...
