Re: Can I use a 5 Volt 3 Amp power supply for my RPi2?

Ok... I am not using a standard PSU, I am using a power bank which gives 2.1A out of one port, and 1A out of the other. So I thought of joining the two outputs by clipping and soldering 2 micro usb cables to make 3A. I am doing this because my pi 2 gives me the power warning (lightning) symbol when ...

Can I use a 5 Volt 3 Amp power supply for my RPi2?

Just curious... :) The title says it all.
Can I? Or will it fry my pi? :(

Thanks and sorry if I put my post in the wrong forum,

My pi WILL NOT let me USB boot!

Hello, I am new here, so if I am missing some step, please tell me. I have a Pi 2 B Rev 1.1 and I want to install Debian from USB. So I used a tutorial found in the Other/Debian/ forum, and in there is a post named: HOWTO: Install Debian armhf on the pi 2/3 So, I made the installer, and tested it wi...

Re: HOWTO: Install debian armhf on Pi 2/3

I find installing OSes fun!
P.S. I possibly won't test your (futuristic) image, because
I want to use the DVD so I don't have to use so much internet!
I have the DVD, and I don't like downloading so many big files...

I need armhf because my pi is still the "old" & "outdated" Pi 2 B!

Re: HOWTO: Install debian armhf on Pi 2/3

Instead of the buster netinst, I downloaded the stretch stable netinst & the stretch stable DVD 1. I want to use
the DVD, so I do not need to use the internet. However, the DVD is over 4 gb, so I cannot copy the file to the usb
drive...

Is there any workaround?

Thanks,

I guess I can't run Debian armhf on my pi 2 this way...
Would this work instead? viewtopic.php?f=50&t=216079
I've tried, but USB drive booting will not cooperate...

My point is, I want to run Debian on my pi 2.

Re: A good battery for the Pi 3B+?

I briefly tried making a laptop with my pi (wooden case, wireless keyboard + mouse) and I used an Aukey 20000 mAh power bank (find it on amazon), which had 2 ports, a 1 amp port, the other 2.1 amps. It worked with my Pi 2b, but I constantly got the lightning bolt warning and some flickering pixels. ...

My pi 2 will not let me install package crossbuild-essential-armhf!

Hello, I am building armhf Debian stretch for my pi (with official kernel) and am following these instructions: https://github.com/drtyhlpr/rpi23-gen-image However, when I try to install crossbuild-essential-armhf, my pi 2 Rev 1.1 says that I "have held broken packages", and that I am missing a gcc ...

Re: My Pi 2 keeps getting slower. Help!

Then would that swap reset command get rid of all the swap Chromium was using? And yes, I do have another SD card, although it has been somewhat used. I am also going to get another one for an arcade I am building. So I will try with another SD card. Another thing that could've caused some problems ...

Re: My Pi 2 keeps getting slower. Help!

I checked swap this weekend, and Youtube really seems to blow it on swap in Chromium. 16.0 MB as soon as I get to the web page! I think what was happening is I was using Chromium, closed Chromium, but the swap stayed in usage, so my computer acted laggy and slow until I shut it down and rebooted. -A...

Re: STICKY: Bugs and regressions

I checked /usr/bin/nuscratch, but when I used nano to check the file, nano said there was no such file. I checked, and there is a /usr/bin/scratch file, which I checked, and it has the "-vm-sound alsa" option for sound, but I am still getting that error, and no sound. :( Otherwise could I go into /u...

Sounds Great! My SD card has around 18 gigabytes of space left, so that's not the problem.

I checked htop yesterday, and I didn't notice anything especially slow. I haven't checked swap yet, though. I have updated and upgraded like -maybe 2 weeks ago. Re: My Pi 2 keeps getting slower. Help!

Okay. So my Pi 2 is running Raspbian Stretch ( not lite ) ontop of noobs ( I think it is v2.8 ). It has a 2.0 amp power supply running at 5 volts. As for peripherals, I have a powered USB hub connected, with several USB drives and a Wifi dongle connected ( the USB drive sizes are 512mb, 4gb, 2 16gb ...

Re: STICKY: Bugs and regressions

Hi, I have a Pi 2 that I make games on. I use Scratch 1.4. I am making my own version of space invaders, and when I tried to import sound, or play it in the sounds palette on any sprite, I got no errors or anything that I could see - but the sounds wouldn't play. Then I ran scratch from a terminal, ...
