Re: Android USB Tethering in RISC OS

Simpel anser : No. RISCOS uses also a rarther old network stack. For more information about current the status it is better to look and ask questions at the RISC OS open website https://www.riscosopen.org/content/

Re: How long will it take for Risc OS to be on todays level of Raspbian?

I believe the assembler does not support the current official standard ARM ISA's (A32, T32, A64) , or even older ones such as UAL. So that puts the answer to the questions as "likely never". In order to maintain or develop the OS, you'd need to be very proficient in a roughly 20 year out of date as...

Re: How long will it take for Risc OS to be on todays level of Raspbian?

Hi, "At least we do not absolutely need native WiFi yet, as there are WiFi to Ethernet bridges available for very low cost". That was not the point of this discussion. To add another point the development tools. While for MS Windows ( and most for Linux as well ) you have nice GUI IDE you have to us...

Re: How long will it take for Risc OS to be on todays level of Raspbian?

Although I love RISC-OS as well. I do think it will take a lot of time before Ipv6 , bluetooth , Wifi and other things are properly supported. Reasons are already given here. Lack of developers but I think more platvorms have this problem. Netbsd for example doesn't support Wifi for the pi natively....

Getting Bluetooth working on Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+

Hi, I was trying to get Bluetooth working on a Raspberry Pi 3 Mobel B+. After some hours of searching and testing I managed to get it working in the following way: 1. The Bluetooth needs firmware to work. I downloaded it from https://github.com/RPi-Distro/bluez-firmware/tree/master/broadcom and then...

Re: Raspbian 'Buster' 2019-06-20

Unfortunately, the older pi's will not start with the new OS. When the OS starts it starts to loop ( I tried two pi's both 3B) I've spent almost as much time testing the image on a 3B as I have on a 4 - it definitely works on earlier Pis! As James suggested, it's probably a bad download or bad flas...

Re: Raspbian 'Buster' 2019-06-20

Raspbian Is 32-BIT so its compatible with previous PI's. If you MUST have a 64-bit OS (although its slower, and uses more memory) use another OS, there are several that support 64-bit Unfortunately, the older pi's will not start with the new OS. When the OS starts it starts to loop ( I tried two pi...

Re: Ethernet on RISCOS not detectable

Hi what RISCOS are you using and which Pi you are using. I have an out of the box Pi 3B and a SD card from ROOL and it works quite nicely. I am using RPi 3B. I installed the OS from the website and put it on the SD card. The OS opens with no problem. but it seems it can't detect or see the ethernet...
