I've had problems with it too, try un-plugging/re-plugging. You should probably also try with newer firmware.

It would be very helpful.

Thanky you.
One can select packages during installation, so the list may vary between installs. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Re: Installer

I think I used "cutdown" kernel config for 8-19 installer while 6-18 is built on full kernel config. You may try to compile the latest karnel and and include the most current initramfs.cpio linked two posts above. Ok, that would also explain why the .zip is so much smaller. Since my install is done...

Re: Installer

Hi, I'm trying to reinstall, but the latest installer (rpi_installer_08-19-12.zip) doesn't recognize my Logitech K400 keyboard (wireless). Since this is the only USB keyboard I have around I am forced to use the 06-18-12 installer. As far as I can tell the keyboard is only partially recognized, as i...

Re: Two XBMC (.deb) compiled/prepared for users + instructio

Installed yesterday the simple deb, some remarks: 1. there is a dependency missing on libpcrecpp0 2. my keyboard doesn't work at all unless I run it as root. For 2. I made a quick hack like this (# means to run the commands as root): # addgroup --system input # chmod g+rw /dev/event* # chown root:in...

Re: Installer

Make sure the partitions are in this order: Fat32 /rpiboot Swap Ext3 / Initially mine wouldn't boot as I had swap at the end - cmdline.txt on the fat32 partition assumes the root partition is partition 3 - so edit that after install, or keep to the layout above. Nope, my cmdline.txt looks fine. Any...

Re: Installer

Please check out the troubleshooting section on installer wiki page - if you could post installer log from your RasPi (/var/log/installer), it would really help me. Thanks! I think the relevant part of /var/log/installer/syslog is this: Jan 1 00:00:47 main-menu[999]: INFO: Menu item 'netcfg' select...

Re: Installer

amp , which installer version were you using? Judging by your mentioning rpi-update I guess 06-18-12? Yes This one is a bit obsolete by now as there is a newer one submitted for Mike's approval. You can find a link a few posts earlier. It uses pretty current firmware and under normal circumstances ...

Re: Installer

I finally managed to boot the Raspbian Installer by replacing the .bin and .elf files with the ones from the image. Some remarks regarding the installation process and instructions in the Raspbian wiki: 1. Language / Country / Keyboard map selection is the first thing to be done (not mentioned in th...

Re: Any interest in a rapsbian mailing list?

Are unofficial ports allowed to be added to here: http://www.debian.org/MailingLists/subscribe#ports - I thought it might assist getting the list some visibility to the Debian crowd .... ? I'll bounce this off plugwash as he's a Debian developer. I think I know what the answer will be, but it won't...

I got it to boot by copying all .elf and .bin files from the Rapbian image.

Re: Raspbian Installer 06-18-12 doesn't boot

I have also tried setting hdmi_safe=1 in config.txt, marking the FAT32 partition as bootable (even if the Raspbian image does not have the bootable flag either) and removing the root= option and everything else relating to root in. Also, what I forgot to mention is that the green OK led is lit up co...

Re: Any interest in a rapsbian mailing list?

I've had reasonably good experiences with googlegroups and it also supports an "archive only" mode where the list is hosted somewhere else (in case the list is ever moved somewhere else).

Any interest in a rapsbian mailing list?

I'm not a big fan of forums, but as far as I can tell there is no mailing list for Raspbian yet. Anyone interested?

Did that already: deleted all files from the FAT32 partition and copied the ones from the installer instead. Still no joy :(

Raspbian Installer 06-18-12 doesn't boot

Hi,

I'm trying to install Raspbian with the files from here http://archive.raspbian.org/installer/r ... -18-12.zip (MD5: ecbbf53da72cf0bbc905827ee7d4efac), but I get a blank screen. The latest Raspbian image works (more or less) fine on the same card.

Any ideas?
