Re: We've hit the big red button - manufacture has started.

<t>I am severely disappointed in Raspberry Pi for sending the manufacturing overseas. If it is done in China then I am out, no RPi for me. Sending the manufacturing to a country that takes our industry by fixing its exchange rate is unacceptable. RPi should not play into this. I think it's a disgrac...

Re: How come there are so many Raspberry Pi haters?

Well, in explanation of my own trollish posts: linuxy things seem to attract a lot of fan-boys who hate "the Steve" and "the Bill".  They have a lot of testosterone in their system, and I still have some too, so I react to it.

Re: Which language would you choose to teach programming on the RPi?

<t>I think jonnie is probably right, in the end. C is not interpreted as the OP wanted but it is quite satisfying to compile and link a program, and very educational. This is well integrated into linux and you can learn to write a make file to automate it etc. Very useful stuff to learn.<br/> <br/> ...

Re: Which language would you choose to teach programming on the RPi?

<t>Spock, I think visual c# fits the original posters requirements very well, and mono will allow programs to run on raspberry pi. And you don't have to use visual studio at all. I don't know what you mean by 6HDs and 1TB of libraries.<br/> <br/> I suppose I wouldn't really teach using a raspberry p...

Re: Which language would you choose to teach programming on the RPi?

<t>c#<br/> <br/> Can use visual studio on a pc to write code to run on raspberry pi, thus giving you the incredibly helpful  intellisence to guide you.<br/> <br/> A lot of people recommend python but I think of that as more of a scripting language, and I find it very confusing with the different way...

I appreciate it a lot, but I wouldn\'t expect anti-\"corporate\" people to, and linux attracts quite a few such losers.

Looking at the number of views on this thread, I am worried about the online shop being able to cope. Why not use ebay?
