I would suggest trying another SD card, a better power supply and/or a better usb cable. Usb cable is perfectly fine, its a fast charging cable so it ca handle the pi. I was able to boot just with 5v 1a from a pc USB, so power supply shouldnt be a problem, and event if it was it would load a rainbo...
