Re: Diagnosing piserver issues

I’m now using berryboot which works well. Ok it still needs an SD card but those are essentially read only. It also supports iscsi which for me is faster than NFS

Re: Diagnosing piserver issues

An update from me - I had an older pi2 lying around and so I put a bootcode.bin on a SD and booted from that and it all worked fine. I then put the same SD card in the sample pi3 and again that now works fine, booting without any SD card still fails to load the OS. I'm happy with this and I'll switc...

Re: Diagnosing piserver issues

The same result on another box for piserver, so I guess it’s either my pi 3 or my network. I went on to hook up bootberry to use on the pi3 and an iscisi network drive and that worked just fine. I wanted to move away from SD and USB boots as I’ve had too many of these break in the past and piserver ...

Re: Diagnosing piserver issues

Yep installed to hard drive. I’m going to try another machine for the server to see if that helps. Different network card, different spec of machine and so on .....

Re: Diagnosing piserver issues

Many thanks for the thought. I did do that - in fact I went back and did it again with a slightly newer stech download, just in case. In the instructions provided a method to edit the /boot/config.txt, but doesn't ask you reboot from the SD card with the change made, so I wasn't clear how the networ...

Diagnosing piserver issues

Hi I've set up piserver fine and my pi 3 appeared on the list of clients. I went through and set up raspberian light as the OS and that completed, but when I turn the pi client off/on again, nothing happens. I wondered if there were any log files or diagnostics I could use to cast light on this? The...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Cheers. In your previous researches, did you happen to find any settings for ffmpeg which allowed the omx support to work? No worries if not and I'll continue to take a look.

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Using ffmpeg instead of gkstreamer Hi I'm using a pi 3 running existing apps on raspberian stretch and installed RPi Cam on that. It generally works extremely well, but I think I'm not alone in failing to get gkstreamer working to create a movie from some timelapse files. What I can do is run ffmpeg...
