Try

Code: Select all

sudo update-rc.d AWL.py remove
Next time you try to add a script as a service go for 'systemd'.
The error gone now. Thank you :D

Error message on Boot Up 'Systemctl'

Hallo all, I have tried Init.d method to run my python program on Raspberry pi at start up by following this guide. https://www.dexterindustries.com/howto/run-a-program-on-your-raspberry-pi-at-startup/ But that doesn't work for me. Then i have tried bash.rc method which has worked for me. Everything...

.... Also , Do you have any idea of how to power on the raspberry pi using a switch or button without removing the power supply and connecting it every time?
Use a multi outlet power strip with a power button.
Thank you!

Re: Power on / off button for Pi

You can make a shutdown button without the need for a running script by adding this to /boot/config.txt: dtoverlay=gpio-shutdown The default pin for the above is pin 5 (GPIO3). If you plan to use I2C then you will need to change the shutdown pin to something else. For example to change the shutdown...

Power on / off button for Pi

Hello everyone, I came across many articles to make a simple power on 7 off button for raspberry pi by connecting GPIO 3 and ground. https://scribles.net/adding-power-switch-on-raspberry-pi/ https://howchoo.com/g/mwnlytk3zmm/how-to-add-a-power-button-to-your-raspberry-pi I have also tried this and i...

Thanks a lot. Now i got you!!! One last querry.. Now i got a new error function do_something takes only 1 argument two given. I have only given self ,nothing else. Can you please clarify also this? def real_program(self): GPIO.setup(24, GPIO.IN, pull_up_down=GPIO.PUD_DOWN) GPIO.add_event_detect(24, ...

Re: GPIO event detection with break statement

Thanks for your reply. but unfortunately i didn't understand your answer correctly. And also i think there is no do while loop. Can you explain me little bit? Is there any other way to come out of a loop?. Because the loop has to run very fast , i think when every time it checks for a condition, it ...

GPIO event detection with break statement

i am using GPIO event detect to detect a button press in while loop inside a class and once the button press it is detected , the while loop has to break and the program should execute the consequent statements. I have given here callback = break . But it is showing error. Can someone please help me...

Time measurement in relation to sensor reading

Good day!!!! i am a beginner to python Programming and i have been learning for the past 1 month. I am working in a Automation project where i am using a position sensor to measure the displacement of a moving plate which moves upwards for a certain distance and come back to original position. Along...

This project is well beyond your capability, due to your lack of understanding of basic electronics A course in basic electronics is you next step, You know what you want. But lack the ability to put it in to practice Thanks for your feedback . i will work on that. ;)

Resistor voltage divider will get the 10V down to a voltage a 3V3 i2C ADC can read. i know that voltage divider cirucit can be made easily by chossing correct resistors. But i would like to know is there any ready made chips to do this job so that it can be connected very easily with raspberry pi. ...

Or if you use ADC supported by gpiozero, you can use its built in support for reading from ADCs
https://gpiozero.readthedocs.io/en/stab ... entiometer
Thanks a lot for the quick response. i will check into that!!!!

Re: Interfacing a Draw wire Sensor with Raspberry pi

So the sensor output has to be connected to Voltage divider and then it has to be connected to ADC. Yes. What does I2C mean? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%C2%B2C Raspberry Pi has an I2C interface on pins 3 and 5 of the GPIO connector. is there any programming that i should use to make i2c connect...

Re: Interfacing a Draw wire Sensor with Raspberry pi

Thanks a lot for your Answer!!! You have told that a supply of 4.9 volts is enough to power the sensor. Can you please give me an idea of how to power the sensor? I mean is it possible to use an external power supply for sensor ? The analog output of the sensor is from 0-10 V. Also, I have read that...

Interfacing a Draw wire Sensor with Raspberry pi

The project is to find the displacement of a moving rod in one of our company's tool. My task is to give the sensor output to raspberry Pi and obtain a graph between Displacement Vs Time. For this i have chosen this as my position sensor. https://www.waycon.biz/fileadmin/draw-wire-sensors/Draw-Wire-...
