Re: Total newbie with a pi

If you found the guides you have consulted confusing, then you are in the same boat as the 100000s of other xbmc/kodi users who seem to be able to understand what xbmc is and what it does.

That's your problem if you aren't prepared to put some effort into understanding XBMC - it's not rocket science.

Re: Total newbie with a pi

Sorry to be harsh, but you need to put some effort in to discovering what XBMC is and what it can do. Your problems are not Pi related. Use Google?

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Have you reinstalled the card and tried again? I uninstalled Squeezelite and when I re installed it and added the Wolfson, it said "looks like wolfson is already installed" or something like that. Do you know how i can uninstall the wolfson stuff without starting from scratch with the LMS as well? ...

A long shot: at terminal sudo apt-get install mpg123 Reboot and try kiwi fm again. Tried that, but unfortunately it didn't seem to help. Any other suggestions? Is there a log that might indicate the problem? Okay - might be a LMS issue. At LMS gui Settings Advanced Select File type from top left dr...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Still having issues with my thumb drive. I realized it wasn't mounting correctly or mounting after a reboot. I followed this guide, http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2014/05/how-to-mount-a-usb-flash-disk-on-the-raspberry-pi/ substituting root for pi as the user but I am getting the following error: ...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

Thanks for the advice here and I have my RPi B+ loaded and working as a LMS. I am attempting to have my music files located on a thumb drive. Approximately 350 folders and ~ 4000K songs. I have been successful in getting the first file to play (flac files btw) and then the sound goes silent. I am p...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

By low-end, I guess this refers to the cpu performance .... particularly with regard to database indexing. I don't find this such a great issue (with 1300 tracks) as the indexing only needs to be updated when you add/delete tracks. Others find the Odroid U3 is a faster alternative - but it costs mor...

Re: Squeezeplug

Oh dear.

Can you login in with Putty to either LAN or WLAN ?

I think you should use either wifi or ethernet - not both at the same time, Pull the ethernet cable and test wifi login. Then pull the wifi and test the ethernet.

Re: Squeezeplug

Yes - it's just the static network config for the Pi.

If it doesn't work then just restore the backup.

All it does is fix the Pi ip address so it won't jump around.

Re: Squeezeplug

Okay - you can set both to a static address. Use WinSCP. Look for the file called - interfaces - located in /etc/network.

Copy and post the contents of the file here.
