Re: Raspberry Jam for Milton Keynes

Absolutely not.

I'd call that a 'champagne moment'. It rates a beer at the very least.

I sense the birth of a possible demo at the next Jam? 8-)

Re: Second Milton Keynes Jam.

Sounds good. I'm currently working on making my pi more mobile, and will be happy to show that if I've got all the bits and have everything up and running. What about a short general introduction to programming on the pi? I was thinking more along the lines of Python or C rather than scratch. I seem...

Re: Raspberry Jam for Milton Keynes

Mark Wilsons beginners guide can be found here: http://www.markwilson.co.uk/blog/2012/08/a-beginners-guide-to-getting-started-with-raspberry-pi-raspi.htm I've been trying out a Targus powered hub, but had a few issues with it. I'm off to Maplins again tomorrow, and I'll be looking at the hub thats r...

Re: Raspberry Jam for Milton Keynes

My wifi - 'It's alive!' Many thanks guys for the previous advice. Btw, the maplin wireless keyboard mouse combo that Mark Wilson mentioned in his fab new beginners guide is great. Just bought myself one of those as well. Just out of interest, is anyone having the same problem as me at the moment? At...

Re: Users in East Surrey/Sutton

unfortunately I missed the London Jam as a result of work commitments, but I went to the Milton Keynes Jam last Sunday. It was great.

I will be going to the next one, so you're welcome to tag along if you like.

I'm also happy to meet up and compare notes if we're the only 2 interested.

Re: Raspberry Jam for Milton Keynes

Downloaded RISC OS from here: http://www.pilearn.com/Pages/Page1001.html Tried it and it seems to work okay. The shutdown keystroke combo 'ctrl-shift-F12' restarts the machine though. There also seems to be a few hiccups on my display with residual window graphics being left on the screen, and the r...

Re: Raspberry Jam for Milton Keynes

It was a really good event. Many thanks to all the speakers, and to Peter and the guys from the nmoc for organizing it all.

I felt that the mix was good and I'm sure it'll blossom into the homebrew style of event that Peter mentioned.

See you all next month :D

Re: Bare metal motivations

My reasons are pretty much the same as Beakster. I'm a C# developer also, and did some asm as part of my Uni course. Just received my Pi, and have it up and running on Raspbian. I've looked at both DexOs and Bernards tutorials, and I'll be working my way through both. I'm thinking of writing a blog ...

Re: Search function failure?

In the advanced search, it states:
Place + in front of a word which must be found and - in front of a word which must not be found
I did a search on config* and then on *raspi within those results and it returned 21 matches.

Hope that helps :)

Re: Users in East Surrey/Sutton

Hi, I'm in Twickenham and prepared to travel to meet up with other Pi users.

I'm going to the London Raspberrry Jam meeting this week and I'll try and find out if anyone else is local.

There is also a Pi map that shows quite a few users in the area

Re: What are your Other Hobbies / Interests??

My interests are eclectic, to say the least. Martials arts, rugby, craft beer, books, sailing, mountain biking, hill walking, art, sustainable living, slow cooking. Was fiddling about with Arduino (Is that a swearword on here?) but its now gathering dust in the corner of the shed as my new Pi has ju...
