Re: Getting a disk space error on the daily despite...

Really? So me disk is just full, even though the subfolders show space available? Confused.

Sorry I thought I'd included this image but it looks like when you select a few images in the directory it will still only upload one!

Re: Improved forked-daapd (iTunes server)

Am I right in thinking forked-daapd doesn't support scrubbing/move to location? Or is it simply that the Pi Zero W I'm running it on doesn't have the CPU power to allow it to work?

Re: Improved forked-daapd (iTunes server)

I'm using forked-daapd with Home Assistant to enable Airplay devices as audio endpoints for notifications ('there is somebody at the door'etc). How are you doing this? When I try it, Forked-Daapd just sort of quits in my Home Assistant Lovelace front end. It doesn't work at all. Any tips most welco...

Re: Pi Zero won't boot but eth is up...

Do you mean /etc/fstab rather than crontab? Ooops! Yes, I very much do mean that. Anyway, thank you VERY much, my ordeal is over, I've been able to boot the Pi and restore access. I had to take the SD card out of the Zero and pop it into an SD card reader, edit cmdline.txt, add "init=/bin/sh", then...

Pi Zero won't boot but eth is up...

So I made a change to my crontab which I think is causing my Pi Zero not to boot. I had basically followed this guide to create a tempfs folder in my user folder. It worked, but of course, I couldn't write to it. I used: tmpfs /home/pi/tempo tmpfs defaults,noatime,nosuid,mode=0755,size=100m 0 0 but ...

Re: Having a hell of a time trying to mount an OS X CIFS share on Raspbian with normal privileges

Bloody hell! That seems to have done it!! So cool! I also changed my use of alphanumeric username to 1000 and same for gid. Went from pi to 1000. So not actually sure whether it was netdev or numeric user/group which did it or doing both!?! Either way...I'm not a HUGE leap closer to using my aged Ma...

Re: Having a hell of a time trying to mount an OS X CIFS share on Raspbian with normal privileges

Thanks so much for this. I currently have this in my fstab //192.168.0.100/documents /home/pi/macmini cifs username=user,password=pass,workgroup=WORKGROUP,uid=pi,gid=pi,forceuid,forcegid,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,users,au$ Will try adding _netdev and see if that gets me a mount on reboot as a fir...

Having a hell of a time trying to mount an OS X CIFS share on Raspbian with normal privileges

So...I'm trying to use an old Mac Mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 as a NAS, I guess. ++ But it's one hell of a slog. Nothing is compatible with it. But I'm determined to make it work as I'm nearly there. I can now easily mount the network share on Raspbian AS ROOT once I found the particular and sp...

Re: Concerned about wearing out SD card- should I be?

Thank you! Excellent suggestion. And presumably I could equally create a RAM fstmp folder called /podcast ? It wouldn't have to be the tmp folder? :-)

Concerned about wearing out SD card- should I be?

I'm proposing every weekday to download a daily podcast with my Raspberry Pi Zero W and then stream that podcast using forked-daapd to my airplay speakers. The file is about 150mb big. Is this likely to wear out my SD card? If so are there ways to mitigate the problem? I note the W has 512mb RAM - c...

Re: Improved forked-daapd (iTunes server)

Can anyone advise - I'm basically looking to use youtube-dl to download BBC Radio 4 PM every day, then stream that downloaded file using the AirPlay protocol to my old school Airport Express plugged into the back of my AudioEngine A5s. Is forked-daapd the missing link that will allow me to do this? ...
