I don't think this has been asked, but is it possible to have the device boot up automatically without having to type in the username, password and then startx. Thanks for the help, turns out that all that was needed was a reboot of my windows machine that was writing the image to the sd card

Putting a new OS onto the SD card

Ive tried out the new Raspbian and i was hoping to remove to try other operating systems. When i put the SD into my windows computer its is not visible in file manager or in the image writing software. Where am i going wrong?
