help with iptables

Hi I have a raspberry pi doing remote data collection and connected to my web server on the internet via a satellite modem. Because the satellite modem has a very high cost per MB of data I want to make sure no program or service that might be running on the pi sends any data or requests downloads l...

Re: any problems with A+ board and camera?

Ok - I did an rpi-update (and apt-get update and apt-get upgrade) and now it works. So maybe it does have to do with gpio differences.

Thanks all for you help.

Is there a published schematic available for the A+ ?

Re: any problems with A+ board and camera?

gpu_mem=128 . I am using the same SD card that I use in another original model "A". But in both of my new Model A+ boards, the camera doesn't work. just hangs when I enter "raspivid -t 20000". everything else seems fine on the boards. And I am using the camera from my old Model A board and have trie...

any problems with A+ board and camera?

Hello, I just received 2 A+ boards. Neither seems to work with camera. I have a regular "A" board and used the camera and SD card from it - where it it was working fine. But in the "A+" board after entering "raspivid -t 20000" it just hangs - no error msg. I can ctl-c out of it. Anyone have experien...

Re: What features/issues to address?

need a way to bypass (or a pass-thru) of the closed ISP. This would allow the use of sensors other than the OV5647 by I2C programming directly of the sensor's registers (like it is done in most of the other sensors that there are V4L2 drivers available. This is really needed in the Compute Module if...

access the RPi Camera from bare metal

Hello

I would like to access the raspberry pi camera from bare metal so as to be able to capture images as soon as possible after booting. Has anyone looked at what changes would be required to run mmal applications such as raspistill and raspivid. I only need to capture a few frames.

thanks, Steve

Re: low-level interfacing to OV5647

@JamesH - would love to be able to capture a video clip in bare metal on powerup to reduce the delay that booting into linux entails. I have searched but have not found any one else who has done this and I'm not sure how to begin doing it myself. You mentioned you thought you might have seen another...

Re: CME -x postponed?

I would want blob detection or feature extraction from the motion vectors to make sure the trigger occurs only when something of interest occurs - like a person walking by in a security system. Would not want the triggers to occur only because the magnitude of a single macroblock's motion vector exc...

Re: CME -x postponed?

I'd like to do detection of moving objects (blobs) using the motion vectors for use as a trigger. This post, in anticipation of the gpu motion vector code, has blob detection and tracking code for use with motion vectors which might prove useful : http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43...

Re: CME -x postponed?

No, the latest raspivid.c has no -x in its menu options - no mention of motion vectors in the code. If there is some problem integrating Gordon's motion vector extraction code with the rest of raspivid.c, could Gordon publish his version that has the motion vector code as a separate program, maybe "...

Re: H 264 Motion Detection - Compressed Domain

Like many on this forum, motion detection is one of my prime interests. I also think that doing the motion detection in the compressed (.h264) domain makes the most sense. I had been struggling to attempt to extract the motion vectors on the arm side. I was elated when I learned that Gordon had mana...

raspivid -x help with motion vectors, please

hello Gordon, I'm very keen to start using your new motion vector code, but I am having trouble getting started. The github code in userland, raspivid.c doesn't have a -x option. Is the code for motion vector extraction located somewhere else? Are the motion vectors for each frame written to a separ...

Re: Can I use this sensor module with RPI

It would seem the newly announced "compute module" targeted at industrial users would require the "opening up" of the camera port to arbitrary sensors as long as they had a hardware compatible CSI-2 interface. The argument that for the Raspberry PI "educational " market that one sensor should satisf...

Re: Stereoscopic Raspberry Pi Camera ISSUE!

OV5647 can be synched with another sensor using the FREX pin input/output (works also in rolling shutter mode). Needs support in driver though. Guess the FREX pin is not even used in Raspberry Pi Camera design, at least Omnivision reference desing tells not to populate the zero ohm resistor which c...

Re: Frame synchronisation

The YouTube video looks very good in 3-D to me using red /cyan glasses! Good job. It would be very useful for more 3-D experimentation, and other neat stuff if the VSYNC could be enabled at the same time the video was being transmitted via the CSI mode. The VSYNC line from the OV5647 chip does conne...
