Re: Virtualise Arch on Raspbian

@ghans
I didn't know that. Then I'm taking a closer look at qemu. Thanks.

@sdjf
Of course I could put Arch on a seperate SD sd card, but rasbian wouldn't be up and doing its work in the mean time. I have enough ressources left, so if it can be done, why not.

Virtualise Arch on Raspbian

Hello, I was wondering if there is any way to run Arch Linux ARM on the Raspberry PI under Raspbian. I searched the web for this, but nothing came up. Qemu seems to be a possibilty, but it only emulates the cpu, which is fear is rather slow. It would be perfect if I could do this from the shell, bec...

Re: Updated GPU firmware

I wrote a little script to test the cpu load regarding vcgencmd. Basically it runs $limit times and each time it writes the average loads from uptime into a text file. After that it sleeps for $pause seconds. At half time it will run vcgencmd. So for $limit=16 and $pause=15 it will report loads for ...

Re: Updated GPU firmware

@ MattSwarbrick

My last two changes didn't fix the problem. I reverted them now and addressed the real issue.
Please try again and thanks for the patience. I'm afraid my bash scripting is a bit rusty. :)

@ dom

I cannot confirm this. The cpu load seems to drop, but after some time it's back up.

Re: Updated GPU firmware

Your are right. I've forgotten something and created another pull request just now.
As soon as this is commited it should finally work as expected.

Re: Updated GPU firmware

There seems to be a little bug in the rpi-update script, so that it didn't recognize the second argumend passed. I've created a pull request, which got commited this moment. So it should work now. rpi-update 240 d6b57e4dad12353f291dae03ecfaf852d2d9fcce This is the last firmware that works for me, no...

Re: Updated GPU firmware

I also got serveral freezes since the firmware update yesterday. When playing music with mpd (Music Player Daemon) the system just froze after a few seconds. Then I tried sudo /etc/init.d/mpd stop after reboot to stop it from freezing, but it also resulted in a freeze. Finally the pi didn't boot any...

My pi now also boots again with the latest firmware and the 240 split.
I didn't add anything to the config.txt.

Re: rpi-update, now no longer boots

It looks to me like the arm240_start.elf is broken in the repository under https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware. Just look at the filesize: arm128_start.elf 2465.904 kb arm192_start.elf 2465.904 kb arm224_start.elf 2465.904 kb arm240_start.elf 642.192 kb I can't get the 240 split to work again, us...

Re: Shipping to Austria
