Re: How to get a RDBMS server to "connect" with a web server?

Thanks for the help guys! With your instructions I got it working but at first WP wasn't detecting or having issues logging into the DB. I just redid the privileges for the DB and it fixed it, which then I reinstalled WP. Thanks for the help and attention!

[SOLVED]How to get a RDBMS server to "connect" with a web server?

What I'm trying to do is to have a RPi act as an RDBMS and another RPi act as a Web server hosting Apache and Wordpress website. But thing is that the guide( https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/remote-access/web-server/apache.md ) I used to make my first website has the user create the MySQL D...

Re: Python Bluetooth Display

Sorry bout the lack of information.

My question: Whats the code for the RPi to send a programs window screen to the projecting RPi?

In visual studio, I get

Code: Select all

E0001:invalid syntax (<string>, line 17)
Im just using the RPi Zero W as the projector and the RPi 3 B as the video source.

Re: I want to set up a VPN on a RPI (I really think this is the right term)

All a VPN does is 1. take the clients request 2. server sends the request as if the server is requesting it 3. server receives data 4. server send data to client and tada! Not very complicated. If you want to configure the server to be accessed from the outside just configure your router's port forw...

Re: I want to set up a VPN on a RPI (I really think this is the right term)

Ahhh, my mistake.

From looking for open vpns I found this, PiVPN http://www.pivpn.io/

I tried it myself and it was pretty easy.

To install you just run the following command and it will take you to an installer.

Code: Select all

curl -L https://install.pivpn.io | bash
Hope I can be of help.

Re: I want to set up a VPN on a RPI (I really think this is the right term)

From what I understood, you might be looking for SSH access. VPNs let you use the server as an ISP, anything you do is registered as the server, not your device.

SSH lets you control the Pi.
Thats the differance.

Fixed!

I just added a little solder to the pin and now it looks brand new! The RPi still works!

USB/ETH Hub burnt pin

I spotted this on my RPi 3 B. Took some pics at a closer look with a microscope. Is this critical or does a small weld fix it? Should I buy a new one? edit: Changed name to avoid confusion. Fixed! I just added a little solder to the pin and now it looks brand new! The RPi still works! Edit 2: Looked...

Can you run a website on several Raspberry Pis?

I've been setting up a web server with DNS now. I was wondering if it would be possible to use a Pi as a load balancer and the others as the web servers?

I have the idea to connect the load balancer to the wifi and be connected through LAN to the servers. Is this possible?

I changed both ssh_config and sshd_config from #Port 22 to #Port 5756. Sorry for the very basic and probably very stupid question... you mean you changed this: #Port 22 into this, I hope... Switching SSH ports

Yes, I do know that theres been a post about this but I've tried everything they've offered and the post has been offline for some time now. I changed the port from 22 to 5756. The router accepted the port and gave no errors. I changed both ssh_config and sshd_config from #Port 22 to #Port 5756. Yet...

Ways to eliminate RAM memory

So I'm currently running a headles Raspberry Pi 3 running a server and a few days ago the server crashed due to memory usage. At first i fixed the major usage by blocking chinese ip's(spam bots). Now it works for 24 hours but I was wonder how much memory is critical and how to remove it. The biggest...
