I create an temporarily swap while compiling, also Mono 3.0.4 had an Jit issue, 3.0.5 compiled great, takes a few hours though:) In arch that's achived by below commands fallocate -l 128M /swapfile chmod ...

Suggestion Programming - C#

A C# forum under Programming would be great, would mae allot easier for people to find info about C#/Mono on the RPi. There's allot of good posts about C#/Mono in "Other languages", but also allot of "Other languages", search doesn't always find them, especially for new forum members. A dedicated se...

Re: Mono / C# and the Framebuffer

This might be too late, but for benefit of others - why not accessing directfb though P/Invoke? Since you need to display certain status (which I guess is limited to rendering text and maybe charts,) a very limited set of directfb calls should be sufficient. I've been studying directfb for a few da...

I've tweeted and emailed, no luck so far. :( Submitted issue to their bugzilla? https://bugzilla.xamarin.com If no one has then I could install Raspbian and compile an sample and file a report. One solution would be to just buy a few Raspberries and send them to Xamarin HQ for da fellas to play wit...

Read someone was working on DirectFB on RPi with some success haven't seen any released bits though.

Bug#682284: fixed in mono 2.10.8.1-6 has caused the Debian Bug report #682284, regarding mono-runtime: SIGSEGV while executing native code on armhf to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen t...

Re: g++ - Internal compiler error: illegal instruction

What start.elf and how much swap do you have? I ran into a similar error when compiling a large project. going to 240 + 240 swap solved my problem.
So in my case the illegal instruction was some kind of out of memory exception.

Raspbian is faster, don't know about more stable, I've been using Arch 24/7 for weeks without issues.

Raspbian currently has some issues with some programs and programming platforms not yet ported to armhf, I.e. Mono is a no go.

No.
But perhaps Xamarin has some fixes 2.11.4 is the latest mono build from them.
Probably only Arm7 focus.

Well there are more limitations, if you run into them I don't know:) As I wrote earlier it's not a 100% aligned with .Net, in some areas it lacks features and in others it has more features. For the moment iOS and Android (and Asp.Net in some extent) are the main drivers of Mono. Which basically mea...
