Re: NOOBS Lite 2.7.0 Pi 2 RISCOS Blank Screen No Activity

Not easy to prevent it for noobs 2.7 without preventing it for noobs 2.4 or pinn. We are in a transition period unfortunately. My advice for anyone not using a 3B+ is to use noobs 2.4 or pinn 2.4.5f. Pinn 2.5.2a might work as it attempts to upgrade the firmware but I've not been able to test it wit...

Re: NOOBS Lite 2.7.0 Pi 2 RISCOS Blank Screen No Activity

Hiya Thanks for replying. Try the earlier noobs v2.4. The new firmware on noobs2.7 for the 3b+ has some problems with oses with older firmware. No doubt that would work, or simply dd'ing a recent RISC OS image to the card... ... but I'm not interested in just getting it working for me. ;) It's comin...

NOOBS Lite 2.7.0 Pi 2 RISCOS Blank Screen No Activity

Hi all Just been giving NOOBS Lite 2.7.0 a go on my old Pi 2. Normally go straight to Raspbian but thought I'd give a few other OSs a try. After installing via NOOBS, RISCOS won't boot- after starting it via the NOOBS OS selection screen I just get a blank screen and no activity on the LEDs. It look...

HELP! :( Pi 3 B+ Ethernet drops (2.5A PSU, multiple cables and switch ports)

I keep having problems with Ethernet network disconnections on my new Raspberry Pi 3 B+. Yes, I'm running the latest Raspbian Stretch and it's up-to-date. Using the Official 2.5A PSU (and the voltage is good and stable at the GPIO pins.) I've already tried multiple, known good at 1Gbps, cables betwe...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ - Freeze during installation?

Cool, sounds like a test escape. All Pi's get tested at end of production but if the failure is only intermittent it may be missed. Glad the new one is behaving better. I am deeply impressed of the work you all done with the Raspberry and for a noble cause as well. The little amount of work I had t...

IIRC, we throttle at 80 down to 1200 Mhz, then the same as before at 85. Might be wrong though.
Does the temperature icon mean I should be concerned or is it normal under that load?

Stock Pi 3 B+ in chilly UK Temperature Icon :(

When loading my new Pi 3 B+, should I be getting the temperature icon at any point?

Code: Select all

for ((i=0; i<$(nproc --all); i++)); do nice yes >/dev/null & done
Temperature goes up to 79.5'C, I guess it's throttling at 80'C?

(I'm in the UK, there's snow outside, for reference - it's not hot in here!)

Also, maybe see if a USB boot has the same problem - that might narrow it down to the microSD card slot. It definitely looks like the card reader. When booted from USB using the original card, but reading another card in the card reader slot, I get the same timeout mmc_rescan errors. Thanks for tha...

OK, not a fast sd card and didn't notice you wanted it all read (6 GB of 32 read in 300s), USB boot is not really an option at the moment, perhaps someone else can help with that. Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ - Freeze during installation?

Hi Dom If you are having reliability problems can you try editing config.txt sudo nano /boot/config.txt and add to end of file: arm_freq=1000 and reboot. Does that avoid the issue? If it does can you try removing that and adding: over_voltage=1 if that doesn't help then you can increase to 2. Let us...

Is this with the new PSU you've ordered or are you still waiting for it to arrive? FWIW my 3b+ has been running flawlessly (24/7) since Thursday and my only complaint is my Pi 3b isn't too happy with it's new (old) PSU (3b+ commandeered the official one) which causes it to crash on occasion (new PS...

Thanks for the comparative numbers, that's really helpful. :) That's a fair bit higher and really quite a tiny dip, really quite a nice and beefy PSU for the price, so I've ordered one. :D
