Re: Any way to add alsa support to ffmpeg without recompiling?

the output is so verbose the issues might get lost in the sea of text. I'll try that. The last thing it does before going back to the prompt is "INSTALL libavutil/libavutil.pc" Also, I figured out that it did fully finish and compile as root, but running it as pi doesn't finish. Edit: Running comma...

Re: Any way to add alsa support to ffmpeg without recompiling?

What files are in the /home/pi/ffmpeg folder? Also are you running as user "pi"? I assume so but if you created another user account, or are using a custom raspbian distro you might not be operating as user "pi". The pi is running on the official Raspbian Stretch image. I am logged in as pi but als...

Re: MotionEye vs Wyze camera?

Here are some additional pictures I could not attach to my last post. One is my indoor version with a wall mount used as a tabletop stand, and the other is an outdoor version with an interior view. Both use a wide-angle, motorized IR-cut camera without IR LEDs attached, and are based on Raspberry Pi...

Re: MotionEye vs Wyze camera?

Thank you very much!! you are wonderful human. i think i will look into the Pi camera setup this weekend. It's just maybe too much if i have to use Noir camera, IR light, design my own case and find people to 3d print for me. (these parts usually not sell in my local store) You're welcome, I'm glad...

Re: MotionEye vs Wyze camera?

I highly recommend PiKrellcam instead of MotionEye. Though they both have pros and cons, I have used both and think PiKrellcam is the better solution for two reasons: high frame rate/high resolution and microphone support. I have four Pi 3A+-based cameras running Raspbian with PiKrellcam installed, ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Does anyone have any idea how we might tie a PiKrellCam feed into Google Assistant, like to the Google Nest Hub/Google Home Hub since it has a screen? Or perhaps to Chrome/Chromecast? I have no clue how this might be accomplished, but am curious to know if it is possible. Well, after a bit of resea...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Does anyone know how to increase the size of the buttons on the PiKrellCam main page? I would like to increase the size of the Motion, Video, Stills, etc. buttons to make them easier to use on the touch screen I have mounted next to my front door. It's great for seeing who is outside, but the button...

billw, thank you so much for PiKrellCam! I have built multiple cameras, 3D printed custom-designed cases and have them mounted both outside and inside my home. It's absolutely amazing and every second you have spent (and hopefully will spend!) on this project has benefited many people. Do you or any...

Awesome! I look forward to checking out the stream, and if it can't be posted you could PM the YouTube link to me. I am pleased that despite my own project's failure, all the time and effort I spent trying to make it work at least helped someone else. My only request is that you keep a single Guinn...

Re: Any way to add alsa support to ffmpeg without recompiling?

To resolve this add -t 900 to your ffmpeg command line, which is 15 minutes converted to seconds (raspivid specifies duration in milliseconds, hence the 900000). The -t 900 option should be added somewhere after the -i option. Now both raspivid and ffmpeg should stop within milliseconds of each oth...

AH-HA - so I've been playing with the code you had for the last several hours and I figured out that it does work... however I have to hit Ctrl-C (maybe other commands in the terminal would work but that's beside the point, I was trying to copy some code while it was running and figured this out). ...

Re: (HELP] Can I use two mic mems or do I need a pre-made array?

I abandoned my own attempt to use two MEMS microphones Thank you so so much for your response, it really means the world to me. I'm guessing that it was not particularly noob friendly to get two mems working together so maybe I should reassess that path? If you have a moment, would you happen to ha...

Re: (HELP] Can I use two mic mems or do I need a pre-made array?

In case no one else has an acceptable solution, I will offer that the ReSpeaker module with two microphones is available on Amazon in the US for $12 as of March 26, 2019. I recently purchased one and it works amazingly well, so much that I abandoned my own attempt to use two MEMS microphones to add ...

Re: Any way to add alsa support to ffmpeg without recompiling?

So with realizing the fact that the sound is there but very quiet, I played around with ALSAMIXER and increased the line levels to top end of the white before it goes red. that helped to some degree. you can now hear the audio but still too low. need to boost it to about double to be acceptable for...

I followed tropho's in the 2nd reply/tutorial and Frame rate drop pretty steady over time. Any ideas? D. Are you referring to the framerate or the transcoding speed? I too have noticed a gradual slowdown, but for the transcoding speed rather than framerate (the "speed=" field during ouput). It usua...
