Re: Simple schematic of the GPIO pin out

I was messing around with Google Docs's Draw app, so here's yet another one:

Re: South Africa - Buy your Raspberry Pi easily

Hi there,

Does the price on the website, R481.85 ( http://www.eexpress.co.za/index.php?p=s ... id=2191863 ) include VAT and shipping?

The website says it's out of stock, so the wait time is 3 to 5 weeks. The price seems a bit high for such a long lead time.

Re: RS & Allied Update #5 (9th Nov)

Thanks for the update Vic. I also received an email today from RS with some good news: Thank you for your continued patience in waiting for your Raspberry Pi order. By way of an extra thank you, we’re pleased to let you know that your order for a 256MB Raspberry Pi Model B board will be upgraded to ...

Re: 1-wire temperature logging

in fact I would not be surprised if stainless steel sensors are available. I've bought quite a waterproof sensors from eBay to measure the temperature in my aquarium, and they claim to be stainless steel. So far they've working great, and they're about the same price as what a naked DS18B20 chip wo...

I've ordered 3 more now, so I hope they also go through as smoothly as the first one. Guess I'll see in 11 weeks :)

Feedback regarding shipping to South Africa

Hi there, I just want to say thanks and share my experience ordering a Raspberry Pi from South Africa. I was very surprised that the process went so smoothly. Usually when I order electronic components from out of country it gets stuck somewhere in the South African post office, and I need to go and...

Re: Remote IO Expander for Raspberry PI

Sorry, I forgot to add that using the Raspberry PI + Arduino like this each one is effectively a remote IO expander that has Ethernet. You can just hook up multiple Raspberry PI's together.

Re: Remote IO Expander for Raspberry PI

I'm doing a very similar thing. I feel a little uncomfortable hooking up external hardware to my Raspberry PI directly and wanted an IO expander to perform that function. I've used an Arduino in the past, so that's the direction I'm heading in. I've hooked up an Arduino to my Raspberry Pi using the ...
