Re: Unable to enable wifi interface "wlan0" in RaspberryPi 4 B [ARCH Linux]

I think easiest way is install netctl and dialog (will give you access to wifi-menu command) for easy wifi setup. else you will have to use wpa_supplicant, you can find instructions on usage on arch wiki :) I got an error trying to pass wpa_passphrase in command so I piped it to a txt file then used...

Re: Can the Raspberry Pi 3 Emulate PS2?

but there IS a PS2 emulator.
and it's actually very good. but it 1. can't be ported to ARM without major rewrites ( iirc some stuff is hardcoded asm?) and 2. it would not run well on a Pim at all.

Anyone had any luck with LightDM?

Specifically with pantheon greeter. I've compiled it and all dependencies via aur, currently what I get is the login screen (without any background though, just black) I can move the cursor around just fine but I can't input any textm after 4 seconds or so LightDM crashes, and then restarts... or ra...

Re: Extracting iPad2 for Pi Display???

I think they actually use displayport internally, so if you can get a proper driverboard for backlight and giving you a displayport connector (like the OSCar, I got one) and get an HDMI to displayport adapter (they need to be active adapters and they seem to sell for 50+ $/£ on ebay). YES, you can. ...

I'd love to see Grandia 2 running, can anyone tell what resolutions it can handle? native only or can it do 720p, 1080p?

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 Full Linux Minecraft Install

the openpandora uses GLShim to run java minecraft under ARM/opengles. should work on pi too.

I would try some stuff but I don't have access to a tv right now.

Re: Diablo (2) on RPi 2?

qemu has been used to run win95/98 to run games such as starcraft and diablo1/2 on the openpadnora (sc playable, diablo 2 running slow) which I bet would work even better on the pi2. I would try it if I had one.

Re: 3D OpenGL games?

1.8 might not work no, but older should (1.7? 1.6.4?), glshim has been used to run it before, on openpandora. it's barely playable though which is why I'm hoping the pi2 would be better.

your best bet for portable gamecube gaming right now is either nvidia shield tablet or the Nexus 9. nexus 9 recommended alot of work being done on arm 64bit recompiler with very promising results. (bonus for 4:3 aspect ratio for gc games)

I am trying to start lightdm

I've tried lighdtm --test-mode --debug

startx as my user fails the same way (xterm)
sudo startx works! but that's as root...

Can't start x mali gpu??

I can't run x/startx etc.

it exits with the following:

Module mali_drm not found
SunxiMaliDRI2_init: drmOpen Failed!

etc...

Raspberry pi doesn't use MALI! O.o

so I tried to run sudo Xorg -configure

but it says

No devices to configure.

and yes I have vesa and fbdev installed!

Autostart video playlist at boot?

Hello, I have a project in mind but for that to work I need the pi to start directly to play videos continually immediately after boot? is there any easy way to do this?

preferably a folder, that way I can easily add more videos.

Re: H264 performance & VLC

hmm, how efficient would the encoder be for transcoding HD content for DLNA? for example, I have an HDD connected over USB, then the Pi acts as a media server and streams a video to my PS3, and makes sure it's encoded to h264 on the fly. 720p would be enough for me, it would also be nice if it could...

Re: Minecraft on Raspberry Pi ? (yes I m crazy)

No, Minetest and Minecraft are not intended to be compatible. Minecraft is a commercial closed source venture, Minetest is an open source alternative. also compiling/porting minetest won't give us the benefit of lwjgl, since the pi is about development and attracting younger audiences java + lwjgl ...

Re: Minecraft on Raspberry Pi ? (yes I m crazy)

Yfory; will minetest be able to connect to ordinary minecraft server? that is, is it using the same protocol? I can most certainly say it will never be compatible with all the mods out there. also compiling/porting minetest won't give us the benefit of lwjgl, since the pi is about development and at...

Re: Minecraft on Raspberry Pi ? (yes I m crazy)

I totally agree with you jamesh, it is very poorly coded and could have been even better in c/c++ than java.

however I still think it will be very fun to get it running and then see how well (bad) it runs ^^

I guess in theory it is the same as people who run win7 on pi with qemu.
