Re: Getting data from usb microphone

You want portaudio. It's the only sane option really. In Ubuntu it is something like: `sudo apt-get install portaudio19-dev libjack-dev libjack0` It's very easy to use and works well on Linux. I've not tried it on the Raspberry Pi, but I plan to get my live beat tracker to run on it at some point so...

Re: gstreamer openmax

So just to confirm where we are:

1. It is now possible to successfully build the OpenMAX plugins for gstreamer 1.0 on the rpi (but Raspian only has gstreamer-0.10, so you have to get packages elsewhere or compile yourself).

2. Nobody has got it to work with Qt5 / QtQuick yet.

Is that right?

Re: gstreamer openmax

Brilliant. If you get it working with Qt5 could you provide instructions so I can update my tutorial page?

Re: gstreamer openmax

Luca Carlon is working on something like that and says "Code might be available in [the] near future.": http://thebugfreeblog.blogspot.it/2013/01/custom-qml-component-for-hardware.html I also vaguely recall reading that the original authors of omxplayer were considering, or are actively turning it i...

Re: Qt5 + omxplayer

I think uncommenting these lines should do it: configDisplay.set = OMX_DISPLAY_SET_LAYER; configDisplay.layer = 2; omx_err = m_omx_render.SetConfig(OMX_IndexConfigDisplayRegion, &configDisplay); if(omx_err != OMX_ErrorNone) return false; But I agree, cross-compiling is a massive pain, it would be ni...

Re: gst-omx hardware rendering

I would like to try gstreamer 1.0 and omx it looks like gst-omx move to 1.0 API btw only different in rasppery branch is call bmc_init(); I may be wrong but I think when I checked there were more differences. Also you'll have to cross-compile all of gstreamer-1.0 for the Pi, since it isn't in the r...

Upon further searching, it seems Luca Carlon (luca4) has done almost exactly what I want:

Re: Qt5 raspbian - errors, errors and more errors :(

No, sorry. It only makes an amd64 qmake. It doesn't look like the Qt make system lets you do that easily, but I agree it should be an option. I can't think of a good way to do that really, sorry. The "proper" way would be to modify the Qt build system so it has an option to also build the "host bina...

Re: gst-omx hardware rendering

Would it be possible for you to share a working example of this? In particular Qt5/QML also? Thanks in advance http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5.0/qml-qtmultimedia5-mediaplayer.html Heh that's the easy part! I think he meant how do you get QtMultimedia to work with OpenMAX (or gst-omx)? You're the fir...

Re: QtMultimedia, OpenMAX and GStreamer - will it ever work?

Omxplayer library under way. Ah cool, how far through are you? Github? Just for reference, here's what my ideal library would have at least the following: 1. The ability to set the layer of the output so it can appear "above" my Qt program. 2. A way to query the playback position. 3. Play/pause/see...

Re: Qt5 raspbian - errors, errors and more errors :(

Complete guide to getting Qt5 on the Pi here: http://creeder.com/?page=RaspberryPi It's based on the wiki one, but I can't stand their wiki syntax so I put it on my site instead. You end up with a working Qt build on the Pi, OpenGL accelerated using the linux frame buffer (not X11) so Qt Quick apps ...

Re: Qt5 + omxplayer

Weird I replied to this but it didn't work. Anyway, I basically said I was wondering the same thing. I want to integrate omxplayer (or libomxplayer when I make it) into my app, and have it play above the Qt5 app. I've found some commented-out code in omxplayer that sets *a* layer. I'm not sure it is...

Re: Qt5 + omxplayer

Yeah I'd also like to know this. It certainly behaves as if the Qt5 app is on a higher layer. You can even run the Qt app, then start omxplayer, whereupon you'll hear the audio. If you then kill the Qt app the video will appear. I remember reading that the rpi GPU does have different layers. We'll p...

QtMultimedia, OpenMAX and GStreamer - will it ever work?

Ok, so I've been on a mission to get Qt compiled for the pi, with QtMultimedia support so I can play hardware accelerated videos from a QtQuick app. I'm starting to think that is impossible. I've read the mega-thread here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=6852 and I don't want to le...
