Re: RPi3B+ Occasionally can't read the SD card

Is the Pi OS properly shutdown before it's powered off, or does the power simply get cut? It is, fortunately, getting shutdown properly. Is the power supply capable of a stable 5V at up to 2.5A (and has it been load tested to confirm that)? I'm assuming it's been load tested to confirm, bought it f...

No, I've only used what is made available to me by my employer.

It runs on battery powers that are attached to solar panels.

Re: Pi3B+ crontab not running raspistill

Okay, but is there a reason that editing the current user is preferred over editing the root user?

2) sudo crontab -e
I didn't execute that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but good to know, thank you! I'll make sure that

Code: Select all

crontab -e
is the one running the script. Is there a reason that's preferred over sudo?

Re: Pi3B+ crontab not running raspistill

Figured it out.
The script is running from

Code: Select all

crontab -e
and

Code: Select all

sudo crontab -e
This is causing the script to be called twice and the photo is failing because the camera is trying to take two photos at the same time.

Pi3B+ crontab not running raspistill

I have a script that is run as a cron job (crontab -l 2>/dev/null; echo "@reboot /home/pi/PicsOnSticks/picScript.sh") | crontab - The script runs perfectly, with one exception , it doesn't take a picture (which is its one goal in "life".) raspistill -q 100 -n -o ${MACHINEID}-${NUM}.jpg This script h...

Re: Sleepy Pi 2 Communicating with the Pi3

Thanks MJAB! For the past while I've been trying to monitor an additional pin but I can't seem to find the mapping of gpio pins to Arduino pins as I am also monitoring the standard 24 and 25.
Do you know where I can find this?

Sleepy Pi 2 Communicating with the Pi3

Hello! I have a Pi 3 Model B with a SleepyPi2 attached to it. It is currently turning itself off after it performs a task, and 'wakes up' every five minutes. This is performing as expected and is all fine however, if I connect to the pi via SSH the pi will 'restart' after 5 minutes, every 5 minutes ...
