Re: Apollo Guidance Computer on Pi

As the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 approaches, I had to check this out. Thanks to Davespice's original post and dgordon42's updated link to the code, I was successful in setting it up and running it on a Pi 3B+ running Stretch (appeared to be version issues with the prerequisite packages on Buster...

Re: Dropped packets over wifi between Pi Zero W and Pi 3B+

... Does anybody out there have a 3B+ and a Zero W - and the time and inclination - to try to replicate what I'm seeing? I don't have exactly the same configuration as you, but here's a little data in case it's helpful (dropped 2 of 1000 packets): RPi3B+ (CoconutCream) as WiFi AP connected to I'net...

Re: Anyone using a Pi (as a tablet) as their main computer?

I have a Raspberry Pi 7" touch screen, but I haven't really used it much. It was originally for a project to replace a sea chart (they are absurdly expensive), and while it worked, it unfortunately wasn't good enough because we couldn't find a good sea map, which lead to the image being very blurry...

Re: hardware pinouts

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/README.md is probably the place to start. https://pinout.xyz/pinout is very helpful for identifying the different GPIO pins. If you're looking to connect another computer running a terminal emulator to the RPi's console, see https://pin...

Re: Issue #57 Hack a Dash Button

Thank you rpiMike ! This works (much better) on my Pi Zero W running Raspbian Stretch. There does seem to be an issue where the first press of a button after a long interval (couple of minutes) doesn't seem to be detected, but subsequent presses are. I modified the code to scan for any of multiple b...

Re: Restart network without reboot

Thanks for that info pcmanbob.

On my headless Pi Zero W running Raspian Stretch, I tweaked it a bit in a shell script to:

Code: Select all

sudo ifconfig wlan0 down
sleep 30
sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
The 30 second delay lets me turn on the WiFi hotspot on my laptop that I want the RPi to reconnect to.
