Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Hi Thomas, Thanks for the work, I have a squeezeplug up and running, that's really customizable with the setup tool. Great work. However, as I use it with a single player (server's on my NAS) there are a few features that I'd like to disable without breaking anything : Samba server NFS server How ca...

Re: XBMC .debs and packaging instructions

Feel free to improve the packaging suite if you find some options that could improve performances.
I'll upload the build I'm currently using from the 5th of November, maybe that'll help.

Press * on your keyboard (mine is AZERTY). I think there's a shortcut to minimize XBMC.

XBMC .debs and packaging instructions

Hi, A while ago I started a packaging suite for XBMC hosted here : https://github.com/Diaoul/xbmc-rbp-packaging Instructions are in the README if you want to compile it by yourself on your RPi You can download precompiled .debs from https://github.com/Diaoul/xbmc-rbp-packaging/downloads What's in: P...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Indeed you have to edit the changelog when prompted to do so. The changelog is something I'd like to automate as I don't want to provide a changelog yet one is required. Autogenerating one could be the solution but I don't know how to do that yet. I have done some changes locally to build pvr-addons...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Hi there,

You can compile your own .debs for XBMC with the packaging suite I made : https://github.com/Diaoul/xbmc-rbp-packaging
It builds with CEC support.

Instructions are in the README.

Re: OpenELEC vs Raspbmc vs Xbian

A little background first. I work on a Debian packaging suite to have XBMC shipped in .deb files to install it over an existing Raspbian image. Source code is available here with instructions in the README. No fancy stuff, I do not claim that I have the best XBMC binary. It is based on upstream's pa...

/opt/vc/lib no more in libraries searched paths (bug?)

Hi, I recently updated my RPi and it seems that now /opt/vc/lib isn't in the default searched directory for libraries. IMO it should be, as Raspbian is shipped with those libraries there should be included. Forcing RPATH is a bad design. I think this is a bug and should be fixed ASAP. If it's not, c...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

AFAIK Raspbian provides libcec 1.6.x whereas RPi support has been introduced with the 1.8.x releases.
This is never gonna work until Raspbian updates libcec to 1.8.x
--or--
You can manually compile libcec 1.8.x on the RPi and install it that way

Hi, Indeed that's pbuilder to install, also, qemu-debootstrap is part of qemu-user-static that you'll have to install from wheezy. https://www.google.fr/search?q=debian+squeeze+install+package+from+wheezy I'll update the wiki this week or you can with all the steps you did, thanks for the feedback :)

Re: SSH disconnect

I do too on one of my 3 RPi. I think its hardware related because other 2 are fine and don't get any disconnections. I'm guessing that the ethernet component is somehow faulty here as I've tried to change only the Pi with another and it worked (test protocol : same SD card / ethernet cable / HDMI ca...

Hi there, I made a fork of the upstream packaging suite for XBMC dedicated to xbmc-rbp : https://github.com/Diaoul/xbmc-rbp-packaging And here is how upstream does : https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc-packaging That'd be great to work together and improve this packaging suite. Re: XBMC for Raspbian

Cooperate with what ? Currently there is no packaging suite to gather on, no project, just some people working on their own and publishing .deb files once they got XBMC to compile. I put all that together and ported the way XBMC is packaged under Debian to Raspbian so that it could be handled by the...

XBMC for Raspbian

Hi guys, I saw a lot of distributions out there dedicated to make XBMC work more or less "out of the box" (Raspbmc, XBian, OpenElec). I think installing XBMC should be as simple as sudo aptitude install xbmc-rbp So I decided to make a .deb package and an easy and reliable packaging suite heavily ins...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

I compiled xbmc and the kernel by myself So I guess the .img is handmade and if one would want to do the same he would have to compile XBMC and kernel on his own, right? Or do you have a script to do all that stuff on GitHub? Also, your blog states "Thanks to Memtic.org , for the precompiled XBMC",...

Is the code available somewhere or did you just packaged precompiled stuff ? I did some work to get XBMC as a .deb easily here : https://github.com/Diaoul/xbmc-rbp-packaging even if that's still experimental. Let me know what you think and where improvements could be done, that'd be cool :) Going to...

This is still a work in progress so feel free to submit pul...

Re: Two XBMC (.deb) compiled/prepared for users + instructio

You need to setup a debian repo and put it in /etc/apt/sources.list if you want to host your .deb and be able to "apt-get install xbmc-rbp-tomaz". You'll also need to put a correct version number instead of none or no update will be possible. I'll do my own .deb soon based on your hard work and on o...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

1.) copy /boot/arm128_start.elf to /boot/start.elf 2.) set "disable_overscan=1" 3.) ask if you want to boot directly to XBMC (+ 5 sec timeout) This seem too much specific to the RPi and also I'm not sure one would want to have his settings modified. The package would be broken if the user changes t...
