you may need to install correct drivers:

Code: Select all

wget http://palosaari.fi/linux/v4l-dvb/firmware/Si2168/Si2168-B40/4.0.25/dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw
sudo mv dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw /lib/firmware
sudo reboot
I believe this works for your usb tuner
it worked thanks!

Now run

sudo apt install --reinstall raspberrypi-kernel raspberrypi-bootcode

To undo the damage. That will also get the latest stable kernel and bootcode for you.

Re: does not boot

What possible reasons do you have for doing that? Scrap your SDCard by writing a fresh copy of Raspbian on it and DO NOT ever run rpi-update ever again unless instructed to do so by an expert from the RPF or RP(T)Ltd. rpi-update is not a general purpose tool and branch=next is currently a long way ...

As suspected its due to the import of code from a web page using the wrong quotes. you need to change the single and double quotes in these lines 16 - 18 and you need to change the readline() to read() on line 16 also needed to correct indent error in line 40 having done all that you can now run th...

First I would not advise you to follow the hardware side of that tutorial, as there is no current limiting resistor In the connection between the gpio pin and the transistor base leg and no back end diode across the motor , both these missing components could result in damage to the pi gpio.
