Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Sorry for the late reply! Must have missed the notification. Specs for the doc state that each slot should be good for up to 6tb. To recap, situation as of now, is that I recently attempted to connect the dock, using the 5tb and 3tb inserted, along with a spare 500gb 2.5”, to a Pi4 running LibreElec...

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Specs for the dock stated hot swapping should be okay, but many thanks for the advice. Won’t be trying that again, just in case. And yes, HDMI port nearest the power socket is being used for the Pi4.

EDIT - and now seemingly at random, the 5tb and 500gb are both readable, whilst the 3tb has vanished!

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Have just tried hot-swapping the 500gb (inserted alongside the 3tb and 5tb also in the dock, connected to Pi3B+), and the dock indicator light on the 5tb has not turned red as before, but that drive has basically disappeared from file manager in Kodi. 3tb and 500gb are both accessible with all three...

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Bearing in mind that both drives weren’t reading at all when both slotted in, and now are when using either Pi, I still have hope that plugging all the drives in at once is doable. One thing I did was wait a little longer before switching the Pi back on after first turning the dock on. I noticed, Re...

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Thank you both so much, and no worries! I’m very much new to this, so cheers for explaining so clearly. Interesting development: I attempted slotting both Seagate drives back into the dock, and plugging back into the LibreElec Pi4 4gb... and both have been recognised! I’ve no idea why this has happe...

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

What does your /etc/fstab look like and could you provide the output of lsblk and lsusb with the drives in the caddy (not working) and with them connected separately (working). Could you also provide the model of Pi, exact model of HDD dock, and the the OS you are running Could I do this through te...

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

For the latter info, Pi 3B+ running Kodi via Retropie, have also tried Pi4 4gb running LibreElec, and the dock is an Orico 6648US3-C. Thanks again!

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Certainly, but I’m not sure how to(!) Sorry to ask, but is there a tutorial that might help? I’d be more than happy to look into it, and supply that info.

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

The drives were never cloned, though it’s plausible there may be some kind of conflict. May I ask any advice in potentially changing the signatures, if required?

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Sure, basically: DRIVES ACCESSIBLE Dock with 3tb inserted (Pi3B+, Pi4, Win10) Dock with 3tb + 500gb (Pi3B+, Pi4, Win10) DRIVES INACCESSIBLE Dock with 5tb inserted + any combination of 3tb or 500gb (Pi3B+, Pi4). Ostensibly works on Win10, though. The Seagate drives were originally in their own caddie...

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Sadly, no change with the Pi4. Tried using LibreElec, but exactly the same problem. Red indicator light on dock drive slot when using 5tb. Drive seems to work fine by itself, strangely enough.

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Ah, fascinating! Good to hear I was ostensibly on the right track, at least. I’ve picked up a Pi4B, and shall be sure to report back, when up and running. Thank you.

Re: Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Interestingly, the dock with all three drives inserted, is recognised by a Win10 machine, with no warning lights.

Is there some kind of capacity limit per USB slot on the Raspberry, perhaps? I’m currently using a 3B+, but could an upgrade to the Raspberry 4 help things?

Orico 4 bay HDD dock

Hi all, I’m having some difficulty in setting up an Orico hard drive dock with my Raspberry Pi. The dock can accept 4x 2.5” and/or 3.5” drives, each up to 6tb. It has its own power supply, and a single USB cable. It has a clone mode, but is currently set to PC Mode, which should enable each drive to...

Re: Novice question - Xbox 360 wireless bridge

Thank you for the link. I believe I've tried that method already, but just to be sure, I started with a fresh Raspbian image and attempted it again, but I'm afraid, still no joy. I followed each step to the best of my ability, copying and pasting into the terminal, and got as far as... Add a new bri...

Novice question - Xbox 360 wireless bridge

Hi there, everyone. I was wondering if anybody could possibly help point me in the right direction with regards to using a Pi2 as a wireless bridge for an Xbox 360. Despite having so far found a number of tutorials online, I can't seem to get the project off the ground. Basically, I have a Pi2 runni...
