Re: RTC Alarm Pi (PCF8563) can't set daily alarm

What do you know, that's exactly what your code did. Then I'm stumped. I'll try it a few more times.
Maybe the PCF8563 can only alarm once then have to be set again? Sounds strange.

Re: RTC Alarm Pi (PCF8563) can't set daily alarm

That didn't work - it will only do the alarm once for some reason. Scouring the net for more PCF8563 information.

My best guess is, 0Bh bit 7 needs to be set (disable daily alarm), and probably also 0Ch bit 7 needs to be set (disable weekday alarm). Just need to figure out how.

Re: RTC Alarm Pi (PCF8563) can't set daily alarm

Seems at least I managed to set the minute and hour only, by changing this: #------------------------- # set alarm data to clock #------------------------- def setAlarm(minute, hour, day, weekday): enableAlarm() bus.transaction(i2c.writing_bytes(rtc_address1, 0x09, decToBcd(minute), decToBcd(hour), ...

Re: RTC Alarm Pi (PCF8563) can't set daily alarm

The problem with the following code, as far as I can see, is that it doesn't accept input without a "day of month" so it can be set only once per month. I'm unsure if it only triggers the alarm once. #!/usr/bin/env python3 # #--------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: RTC Alarm Pi (PCF8563) can't set daily alarm

Thanks Dougie, but I already did read it in detail, and while I can mostly understand it I have no clue how to do any of that.
Anyone have a python/anything example on how to set values to PCF8563? I tried reading the example code but it's a bit too advanced for me.

RTC Alarm Pi (PCF8563) can't set daily alarm

I have a RTC Alarm Pi with a PCF8563 that I plan to use to turn on my Raspberry Pi every morning (offgrid installation). However the example python codes, spesifically setalarm.py, can only set alarm for a minute, hour and day of the week. Is it so that the chip will only store one alarm with a spec...

systemd-fsck not working with f2fs

I've switched to f2fs on my RP3 Jessie-installation, as it seems I get less mmc corruption with it on my off-grid machine. However, it seems systemd-fsck passes the wrong arguments to fsck.f2fs, so it can't be run on boot. The following is from the syslog immediately after startup: systemd-fsck[114]...

Re: Tutorial: Add a Real Time Clock to the Raspberry Pi

Wow, what a mess RTC is on Jessie. Thanks pemst , your suggestion finally worked on my off-grid installation that's completely RTC dependent.

And a huge thanks to marcus15 for all the groundwork.

Re: WiMAX Solarcam Pi

Sorry for late reply - the WiMAX setup is delivered by a provider here, so it's nothing I have set up myself. I got the subscription and antenna from them, and they were kind enough to provide a DC injector instead of the usual AC mains injector for power supply. So for me it works like any broadban...

Re: SailPi, tablet and phone project using RPi2 and Sailfish

Just tried it, looks amazing - Thanks a bunch!

Struggling with basics like WiFi and the tutorial was hard to get through (screens not visible for timer and such), but overall seems like this will be excellent for the RPi touch screen :)

Re: Streaming to Android with audio

arecord -d 5 -f S16_LE -r 24000 pulse3.wav pulse3.zip So, the mic is unmuted and gives nice audio through both alsa directly and through PA. Here's how it looks in Chrome: webrtc_internals_dump.zip http://bjortjonn.no/images/chrome_webrtcaudio.png But no audio icon on the tab with the webRTC-stream...

Re: Streaming to Android with audio

Could you clarify "contains nothing"? Can you paste the logs from chrome and a screenshot of the audio trends while streaming? Then again please double, triple check that you have your card unmuted while streaming with UV4L. Use alsamixer to verify that. The fact that you don't see any warnings or ...

Re: Streaming to Android with audio

Thanks for the tip, that cleared up some things. I have an audio stream, but it contains nothing. I also went and got a new mic to see if it's the semi-bugged PS3-mic that wasn't working, but no dice. arecord works and makes a nice little sound file with the default input device, but the webrtc stre...

So, many many hours of pulseaudio later, no luck. I guess this may be the wrong thread for this, but since it's pulseaudio only it seems I am stuck again: arecord -l **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 1: CameraB304061 [USB Camera-B3.04.06.1], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] Subdevices: ...

Re: Streaming to Android with audio

Nonetheless, I went out and got a Raspberry Pi 2, and tried this - and it looks like a great project! However, still no dice - it is not detecting my microphones, and I can't find any way of configuring them nor seeing anything about audio in the logs. The server starts up just fine, I can get the w...

Streaming to Android with audio

I'm trying to find some way to make a stream with little delay and audio included, to an Android device. But I've just not been able to. Does anyone have a good idea on how to do this? (I did search, here and everywhere). Results so far: mjpeg-streamer Immediate output, works on every device, but no...

Re: Problem to setup hotspot/Wifi access point

Firstly, you've got some big bugs in your network. Both the wlan0 interface and the eth0 interface are on the same subnet, but it looks like you're using NAT. If you want to go in through the wlan0 interface, then use NAT through the eth0 interface, you need to configure them to be on two different ...

Re: [SOLVED] after yesterday's update the i2c clock doesn't

The diff for hwclock.c back to the 2.20.1 release is 1275 lines, and even the commit log is 530 lines. If you feel adventurous you could use git bisect to narrow it down to a single commit, which may only take 9 or 10 builds. I had a quick look into it, but then realised there's other things that d...

Same problem - something must be wrong with the 3.18 driver. I also just now tried the latest hwclock from util-linux 2.26.1 as suggested elsewhere, and it does make a difference. hwclock now works! sudo hwclock --rtc /dev/rtc0 -r Mon 30 Mar 2015 16:02:39 CEST .978874 seconds sudo hwclock --rtc /dev...

No other changes, it worked, I updated, now it doesn't work.
Setting the clock and rebooting will always bring back 1970 now.

Is there an rpi-update command I can use to try an older kernel pre tree-change?
