Re: Problems when copying files to connected HDD
You can have that on your pi with omv, plex, qbittorrent, sickrage, everything is super easy to install and setup, i suggest again omv, 2-3-4 drives on raid or individual, samba shares, permissions, all set up from a web ui, really it feels that what you want is a nas distro...

Re: Problems when copying files to connected HDD
Im thinking a bit out of the box here maybe, and maybe its not his use case, but assuming his only use is to share that hdd over the network why not use OMV? i mean, the correct tool for the correct job...he didnt state his use case for the raspi or the setup, one can easily assume that sharing stuf...

Re: Issues logging into Pi for the 1st time
I do it sometimes because even if here the info is wrong (and corrected) it can point someone in the right direction if doing a seach in google and landing here, i see someone else in the future having connection problems and wondering if they need a crossover cable, landing here and realizing they ...

Re: Issues logging into Pi for the 1st time
if so you know that a normal ethernet cable would NEVER work? you need a crossover cable That is completely UNTRUE. All RPis with ethernet are autosensing and NEVER require a crossover cable to connect to any other ethernet equipped gear. Lol chill, i was editing my own post correcting that give so...

Re: Issues logging into Pi for the 1st time
I think that is where I'm having the issue is figuring out what IP my Macbook is creating for the ethernet. Based on previous reading, I have set my laptop up to act as a router for the Pi, with the DCHP (or something), so I know that works. But I'm not sure how to find the IP address it assigned??...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.
So after some hours researching i found how to reboot to a different OS from command line on any of the OSs on the system, being super noob on linux stuff it took me allmost a whole day to find the correct info: sudo reboot 6 and where to get the correct number from your own system as seen here: htt...

Launch another partition OS straight from raspbian desktop
As the title say, is there any way to reboot straight to another partition with a simple icon on my desktop? my knowledge on linux is limited so maybe im barking at the wrong tree, i actually put my limited google-fu power on action but i ended with 2 possible solution, none of them working/useable:...

If you plan ONLY to use it as a home server and only thru ssh/terminal i suggest you to try dietpi, download the image from: http://dietpi.com/downloads/images/DietPi_RPi-armv6-(Stretch).7z burn as usual (i suggest to use "etcher"), some starting tips: http://dietpi.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php...

Re: Overclocking Raspberry Pi 3
So, after reading this I still didn't find an answer to the original question. My Pi 3 also says that it cannot be overclocked. How is it that some of you are overclocking, and some of us have Pi's that say it can't? raspi-config on rpi3 ALLWAYS say that, you need to overclock by manually editing t...

Re: How to autostart a program on Raspbian?
There are several lxde autostart files on different places, the one that works for me on the "oficial" raspbian with pixel is: /home/pi/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart edit it with: sudo nano /home/pi/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart this totally works for me, i used it for a while ...
