I've got one, too bad I'm in the US. Didn't realize it was a rare one.
Good luck on your collection.

Wrong NAS disk size

Greetings, I used this tutorial to set up one of my Pis as a NAS http://elinux.org/R-Pi_NAS , which worked fine, except the 160gb usb hdd I used shows up as disk1(\\RASPBERRYPI\public) with a size of 2.83 Gb. Needles to say Windows refuses to copy anything bigger than that over. I have checked my ty...

Oh, happy day!

Got tired of switching sd cards when changing my Pi from NAS to mobile on my lap-dock. Set the old 256Mb card up to run headless as a NAS server and ordered a 512Mb model for the lap-dock. Wow what a difference browsing with Midori. The windoze laptop will be history as soon as I get a working Ardui...

Thank you DB. No excuse for not doing that myself, just lazy and old I guess. The "Roll your own dropbox" link is just what I was looking for, I was using Dropbox until I could get my Pi set up like that. He even has an image available with all the downloading and installing done. Yes, there is that...

One word: RESISTOR Some things to learn before hooking anything up to electronics. The ratio of V(olts) = I (amps) * R(esistance) , V=IR, commonly , though incorrectly, known as Ohms Law. Then learn how to use it to figure the resistors needed to keep your current on the output pins below 75% of the...

Re: Solid sate power switch

Xian, Actually, (proper) mosfets are easier to drive with an mcu than most transistors. This one https://www.adafruit.com/products/355 will work with a Pi because the gate voltage only needs to be 2.5 volts, and is capable of many times the current needs of a Pi, it also has a very low RDS on, so vi...

Check out this thread http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =63&t=6747, I've got a total of less than $60 in mine(excluding the Pi) and I am really happy with it. Very portable and a real conversation piece.

Check out this thread http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 29&t=21342,
describes a small script for doing it all atomatically, rpi-clone, worked like a champ to backup/clone
my 16Gb to a 4Gb.

Re: Color fading rgb led via GPIO

stuffstuff DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT connect leds, even with resistors to any ofthe gpio pins on the Pi. They are specified to only cary a very small amount of current, something like 3mA, so almost any load will burn them out. You will have to use transistor circuits to interface the leds, there may...

Did you use a disk imaging program to put the OS on the disk?

Re: Win32 Disk Imager doesn't recognise my device (SDHC card

Do you have diskimager running?
Does it show the drive in the burn image to window.
Your computer must have recognised the card to format it.
If it came with the OS on the SD, Windows won't recognise all of it I don't think, or maybe at all.
What are you seeing so someone here can help.

Re: Pi arrived, not booting

jbassett, If you have another SD card available I would try downloading and imaging it with the wheezy distro, then trying with that. They might have missed loading the card or it might be faulty. Keep your original to return if needed. Check that the card is inserted correctly and fully, the new SD...
