Re: Xibo player (work) on raspberrypi

Finally managed to get around and test the newest xibo client. Works great, smoother than previously. Although its true it completely stops when it comes to playing a video (used an xvid) and i couldnt also run ticker (pointing to a normal RSS feed). It got stuck at the last image before the actual ...

Re: Xibo player (work) on raspberrypi

hellbender: great stuff! I should be able to test this tomorrow and report back.
Didn't you mean that newest libavg would provide hardware accelleration for videos ? Having a working xibo on raspberry that can display and cache images and videos is something i can start with.

Re: Xibo player (work) on raspberrypi

Hey, just wanted to drop in and bump this thread. Did anybody else give Xibo player a spin ? We have tested it and images display correctly, while vidoes dont. Does it relate to libAVC work being currently done? Would this newest library (that is not yet used in this image from hellbender) improve t...

Re: Xibo player (work) on raspberrypi

Hellbender: similar here, I managed to get the xibo client running now on my Rpi. Also can see that images get displayed correctly and no other content gets displayed, while xibo client freezes when its trying to display other content. Videos (wmv, avi, mpg) are not playable, but i assume its due to...

Re: Xibo player (work) on raspberrypi

hellbender - great work, i always liked xibo but missed being able to run the client on Rpi. Thanks to you and all others who are making this work. I should have a fantastic deployment if this works out - digital signage in the public transport ! However for now, im struggling to run the client. I h...

Re: Project: Android JB 4.1 with Hardware acceleration

My team would have another idea for an educational project. We would like to use Raspi (together with GPS receiver and 3g modem, both on usb) as a cheap tracking device. These devices are mostly expensive, but there are open source clients on android to save&send current position from gps. Android o...

hardware accelleration in Qt framework or QtonPi ?

Hey, I couldnt find a suitable subforum therefore asking here. Will the opensourcing of video drivers that happened recently, influence releasing Qt framework that would support hardware accelleration? I am not sure of QtonPi is a OS that is based on Raspbian with inbuilt Qt 5 framework, and im not ...

Re: opensource videodriver

Hey, thanks for all comments on videodriver. I am maybe a noob, but could somebody tell me please what prohibits that Rpi actually and finally gets a proper android os ? Broadcom videos showed that it can work but its still not available. Is the architecture of Rpi so much different from a big range...

Re: Could someone from Broadcom post here on GPU support ?

jamesh: i haven't! it is fun, im using it everyday with raspbmc on for my home entertainment. better than television! i have a small company and android on raspberry would allow me to introduce a digital signage system tailored at public transport buses. Could someone from Broadcom post here on GPU support ?

Hey, it's been almost 3 months from the date of the post that Broadcom has an internal version of Android running with hardware accelleration for GPU. Since then, there has only be roumors, speculations and no official news. I understand its also licensing issues and most probably it wont be open so...

multimedia playback on debian

Hey, after getting my raspberry, i gave it a spin with recommended debian squeeze and Raspbmc images. Hardware support for video playback is great in Raspbmc, because command-line is supported, while x server is not yet. I was wondering what are the plans of supporting smooth video playback while wo...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hey R-Pi users and fans! got my first raspberry, wanted to say hello to all fellow enthusiasts. Back in early 90'tes began my adventure with computers with a simple ZX81, had C64, Amiga, PC and now... Raspberry.
