Re: STICKY: TUTORIAL: Build the #1 Image Viewer – Automatically in 3 Minutes!

Followed your instructions. Not really. Followed your instructions..... Also, in FileManager, after step 4, there are two instances of fehshow (again, maybe because one already existed from the earlier install). If you scroll up, you’ll see that I never told you to do anything beyond using my updat...

Re: STICKY: TUTORIAL: Build the #1 Image Viewer – Automatically in 3 Minutes!

Just bought a Raspberry Pi 4 for a slideshow project. Tripped across this Post today. Impressive. Installed with no difficulty on Raspberry Pi 4. Only problem is changing settings, in my case the length of time of display. I see nowhere that I can change default "-D 3" to "-D 5"...

Re: Wifi Hotspot with Wifi Internet

I've been googling for a few hours now and am coming up empty handed on how to setup such an access point. I am looking to setup a raspberry pi where at home it connects to the local network as well as runs its own hotspot passing internet from the home network to devices connected to its hotspot. ...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

Anyway, thanks for this project. Working amazingly. I'm glad you're still enjoying my project! I sorted out this. I had PN connected in my computer connected through ethernet. After I disconnected it it worked perfectly fine. I honestly have no idea what "PN" means. I Googled those letter...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

with the hardware function of the Pi it is possible to connect to a WiFi and act as an access point in one go, so why the second WiFi hardware? Router_Comparison_RPi_Mike.jpg Your question inspired me to make the above graphic. On at least a few levels, there's no question that mopeds and SUVs are ...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

The default TTL on both Android and iOS phones is 64; any packets originating on of those devices will arrive at the cell carrier's network will have TTL of 64 as the packet is incoming. Linux, Windows, and OSX also use TTL 64 as their default. Therefore any client system that is using the phone as...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

Have you played in the WTW system with the Pi Zero W? Would it work as a simple node? Meaning does it have enough hardware/software resources to serve as a client node. Too little processing power?Limited memory? Would the Bash scripts process effectively in a small footprint like the Zero? Thanks ...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

Amazing project and works perfectly fine. Glad to hear everything works! Anyway, I was able to work out it by using your downgrading of wpa_supplicant to version 2.8 and then upgrading again to 2.9 and it worked after it. I of course have no idea what you may or may not have done at any point. What...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

One of the parts I encounter is when upgrading wpa_supplicant. After I upgrade I try to check the version but cannot find it: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ wpa_supplicant -- version - bash: wpa_supplicant: command not found Not sure if I'm actually doing something wrong or not. Any suggestion how to troublesh...

Sorry for a poorly worded question. I was actually asking if you had a dedicated link/web page to the instructions as you outlined on the forum..... Thank you for the very thorough and detailed explanation of my questions. Is there a preferred location/link for your (WTW Router) setup? You're welcome! As for a "preferred location/link" for my router's setup, I'm not entirely sure what the question is. If you're asking about the locati...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

Is the WiFi Direct feature fully functional in your build? WiFi Direct is of course unrelated to the scope of my tutorial — since my WiFi-to-WiFi router uses AP mode, not P2P mode. Note to other readers: P2P, or Peer-to-Peer, is another name for WiFi Direct. However, when I wrote my Bash script to ...

The current version of wpasupplicant on standard RpiOS-Buster and Debian Buster appears to be 2.7 not 2.8 You're making two separate statements, but only one of them is true. Debian Buster is indeed using v2.7 of the wpa_supplicant command / wpasupplicant package . But Raspberry Pi OS is of course ...

Just take a look at the page on a mobile phone and you'll understand the extreme level of ugliness. I thought I handled your aesthetic request quite reasonably by compromising with you.
