Re: Any one having problems with printing laterly

Thanks, I believe I did try that and it didn't seemed to work. Maybe the packages have to be installed in a particular order? I suppose Jessie work well enough for now. My only concern would be security patching, so I may try stretch again later.

Re: Backing up the SDcard

I figure out why I had problems with Win32Imager. The program is unable to deal with partitions that it cannot handle, resulting in the program crashing upon startup. I was unable to run it on my Dell because I think the recovery partition on it could not be read by the Win32image program.

Re: Any one having problems with printing laterly

So the issue does appear to be related to the release. When I downloaded Jessie and tried to install the print driver, it worked just fine. I think there are probably issues with Stretch, CUPS and the hpijs driver.

Re: Backing up the SDcard

After some experimentation, I got Win32Image to work. Not sure why it didn't run in the first place, but it was able to backup and restore the sdcard.

I have been using a Raspberry PI for a printer server for about 2 years now. The PI has been hooked up to a Brothers HL-2240D laser printer. I had use CUPS and the hpijs drivers. Re: Backing up the SDcard

Thanks,

I was hoping to have back it up to the hard drive so I could version it. However, a second sdcard would work, too.

There is only 1 microsd card reader on the raspberrry though, so I may have to find or purchase a second sdcard reader.

Backing up the SDcard

Recently, my Sdcard in my Raspberry Pi got corrupted. I had image the SDcard using AOEMEI Backupper and restored it from backup. Much to my surface, it did not work. The restore image did not boot. I tried creating a new sdcard and then imaged it. It did not work when I restore it. I tried installin...

Raspberry PI official wireless dongle

How well support is the official Raspberry Pi wireless dongle? A bit of background, I have been using Raspberry Pi Zero as a print server with an ASUS USB-N10 wireless dongle. This worked pretty well until I upgraded from Jessie to Stretch and the wireless stopped working. It turns out that the driv...
