Re: Will these speakers work?

I don't mind that, I just need sound that I can understand, and if those speakers work that will make my hunt for new peripherals SO much easier.

Will these speakers work?

Hey guys, I'm back - I'm doing a major upgrade on my entire Raspberry Pi set up (making it more dedicated) - and I'm curious if they speakers will work with the composite audio output on the Pi. I ask this because I use a CRT TV now, but I'm switching to a 1080p Dell monitor, but that has no speaker...

Re: Minor improvements for a model C

I think if there was to be a Model C, it would be a high end model - leaving the A to be basic for schools and hackers, B for house use and recreational purposes, and the C for people who need more performance (people like me who try to use the Pi as a primary desktop) - maybe a ARMv7 CPU, 1-1.2GHz ...

Re: RPi won't boot - no video output

I know this is gonna sound SUPER like, basic, but, are you sure the TV is set to the video mode in which it can output RCA connections? Like with my TV I thought it was simple, turns out I had to grab my remote & press a button to send it into "Game Mode"

Possible FreeDOS port?

Yes, this is the question. Is there any software developer out there that would wanna port this OS to Pi? I'm a DOS enthusiast and the idea of my Pi running DOS makes me happy xD I just love DOS, yes, I could use Debian without a GUI, but FreeDOS has a better feel :P Also, I know I could use DOSBox,...

A future with RPi cases

I was just thinking about this, but - if the Foundation plans to add cases to the Pi in the future, what happens to people already holding a model? Do we get a case as well as part of a program, or? I'm just curious, I'm not begging for a case - I prefer seeing my beautiful Pi's insides out on my an...

Re: DOSBox doesn't work properly

Well once I could get my internet running right again, I'll try that. I'm on Raspbian, LXDE, the official image, and I always had internet - the Pi has always been connected to my router via ethernet, and it just suddenly stopped working. I'm pretty sure it was always DHCP because the IP address was...

Re: DOSBox doesn't work properly

Okay, I hit a HUGE problem. I have no internet connection on the Pi now whatsoever. I use Ethernet to connect to the internet, the Pi doesn't have an IP address, ping brings up errors, meanwhile the router sees the connection as being used, and the internet lights on the Pi are on. Does anyone know ...

Re: DOSBox doesn't work properly

Well there's videos on YouTube of people running it without X, so you'd think you could run it without X, and also running it in X on a CRT is simply impossible, namely because the window is just too big for the screen. I run sudo dosbox, it starts but the screen is BLACK in the console, no splash s...

Re: DOSBox doesn't work properly

I've seen other people use this though on Debian Squeeze on the Raspbian Pi in the console, and even go as far to play games! It opens in X but the issue is I want to be able to run it in the console & I want it to fit my screen size, it works fine in X

Re: DOSBox doesn't work properly

Certain posts have received answers but not exactly the posts I'm talking about (Never received help regarding despotify, keymapping, etc) I'm using Raspbian, installed it using the dd tool in Linux, went through all basic set up things and I also use overscan to try and make this CRT comfortable. A...

The LAN chip is also the USB chip so, even if you turn off the LAN part you still have the USB part, which I'm pretty sure you need :P

No more despotify?

Okay guys, I'm Pete. I have a HUGE thing for music. Therefore I have a Spotify account. I also love the Pi and own one, but apparently, despotify is dead. despotify.se is down apparently, and hexxeh's code to put despotify doesn't work on the official Raspbian image (error while compiling). Does any...

Nintendo SNES Emulator?

Does anyone know if there is a SNES emulator available that works on the Pi? Considering the little amount of games available, I would assume that we can, at least, play classics like Mario on this little guy, because I'll tell you what, I stink at Super Mario World, and I'd love to be practicing an...
