Re: 10.1" Pi tablet case on Kickstarter "RASPAD"

Not this project again. Before you pledge just be aware that almost everything they're pushing applies to any Pi. All they're actually offering is a screen, a case, some speakers, and a battery. Everything elase is not specific to their project (though they give that impression). I'm not saying don...

Re: 10.1" Pi tablet case on Kickstarter "RASPAD"

The Pi 3B+ came about well after the RASPAD was developed. They have probably already placed orders for a large amount of Pi 3B's. I wouldn't expect the B+ to come with it and from what I've read so far they haven't even gotten their hands on one to try in the case. I just ordered a 3B for my daught...

Re: Looking for the best OS for Plex and Netflix

I've done almost nothing with my Pi 3B since I got it but I see having a little more free time soon and want to get a chance to see what I can do with this thing. I have almost 3TB of movies on my desktop computer and use Plex as my media server. It works fine but I may get another Pi to use as a de...

10.1" Pi tablet case on Kickstarter "RASPAD"

I'm surprised not to find it on this forum using the search function. Here is a link to the Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/35410622/raspad-raspberry-pi-tablet-for-your-creative-proje They started off looking for only $10,000 but are well over $350,000 already! I went with the...

Re: Dead SD Card?

Stop buying cheap fakes on eBay or Amazon. Buy full priced cards. I get my full priced SDCards from the photo/phone dept of the local supermarket or in-store from Argos.co.uk (which is now part of Sainsburys Supermarkets). That way I can trust them not to be fake. If it's less than GBP£30 (USD$40) ...

Re: Dead SD Card?

I wish I had a dollar for every bad micro SD card or USB thumb drive I've bought the last few years. Anymore I cross my fingers AND toes as I'm handing over my hard earned money. I've got better things to do then keep returning this stuff. You'd think they'd do some kind of burn in test before they ...

Software, a very dangerous thing to expose young minds to.
I have a very old mind so I don't mess with the stuff.

Re: OK. This is ridiculous!

Did you read James' post above your's. What do you expect for £35? Did you read my quotation of Turbojoe posting? I will repeat it: "I'm already asking myself why I spend a grand to build a desktop system that so far seems no faster than the PI doing normal daily things like internet etc." If I cor...

Re: OK. This is ridiculous!

Rather than people thinking of all the tiniest little issues with the Pi, can we not just be grateful for what we have got? This is a post from someone who has just discovered the Pi, and is pleased with how it is working. There are plenty of other places to whinge about areas where your $35 box is...

Yep, it's ridiculous.
chromium play youtube freeze all the time for years.
Hmm. I didn't try You Tube on the PI yet. Everything else worked very well. If YT doesn't I'll still be happy.

Re: OK. This is ridiculous!

I surmise that it's a present for someone in about 3 weeks.

Actually it's present for me that I wasn't supposed to buy. ;)

Re: OK. This is ridiculous!

Thanks guys. I couldn't take it and pulled the PI back out again to figure out the WIFI problem. The problem was that the TV was too far away and I couldn't see everything. Now connected to my monitor it was easy to see ALL of the toolbar options. It took all of about 1 minute to get connected to my...

Re: Brand new Noobie!

Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn't set up for topic reply notifications but have since remedied that. At $16.00 for the good case I'm OK with that and may order one.

OK. This is ridiculous!

I bought my PI 3 kit from eBay a few weeks ago and finally got a chance to pull it out and plug things in. Hooked it to HDMI and my 40" TV. SD card installed w/NOOBS. Plugged in the power supply and before I could find and turn on the wireless mouse and keyboard the operating system was installed an...

Brand new Noobie!

Just received my Raspberry Pi 3B kit from eBay an hour ago. Did a little research before ordering. 32gb, case, 5.1 volt 2.5amp power supply and two heat sinks. It may be a day or four before I can get a chance to power it up. Just curious. I see a lot of 30x30mm cooling fans on ebay for the Raspberr...
