Re: Minetest on Raspberry Pi

Welcome penh! To deal with broken apt packages, sometimes this can be addressed by sudo apt-get --fix-missing . Other times you may identify what package is causing the bad dependency and run sudo dpkg --remove <package name> . If still stuck, please post the full output to give us more clues. As fo...

Re: Minecraft Pi edition crashing

Sorry that nobody has a certain answer for this. The fact that it runs on the B+ without issues but fails on the Zero helps to rule out that you don't have any gross software misconfiguration. Based on what you've said a best guess is that it's due to less RAM (512 MB) on the Zero vs the B+ (1 GB). ...

Re: Latest Version of Firefox(and Thunderbird) on a Raspberry Pi

You are both kind of right. Problems arise when Firefox is too old (unsupported), too new (breaking changes), or built with the incorrect settings. Because the Mozilla team has stated armhf Linux to be a third-tier platform, even the builds that don't crash probably have subpar performance and other...

Re: Quake and Quake III, but not Quake II?

Hey 386dx40, I explain how to avoid the libjpeg header issue at the end of my Sat Dec 16, 2017 7:05 pm post earlier in this thread. Basically you should use the master branch rather than the opengl_es branch, then it's a non-issue. Not sure if your earlier problem was tied to using the wrong branch ...

Yeah, it might make sense to replace this sort of script code: logged_in_user=$(who | grep -m 1 "." | awk '{print $1}') if [ -z "$logged_in_user" ]; then q3l_user="pi" else q3l_user="$logged_in_user" fi if [ $(dirname "$0") = "." ]; then q3l_compile_path=$PWD else q3l_compile_path=$(dirname "$0") fi...

There doesn't seem to be any mention of a chown error in your log, so yes maybe a one-time event and benign. This looks like the actual error: /usr/bin/ld: не се намира -lEGL /usr/bin/ld: не се намира -lGLESv2 collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status This is the issue I pointed out in my un Dec 17...

Re: I'm having trouble port forwarding my Raspberry Pi Mcpe server

Good to hear that Nukkit is at least reachable on your LAN! If your friend is connecting from outside by IP address, are you sure the internet-visible IP address that your friend is specifying is correct? How are you obtaining it? If you configure your router to put the Pi in a DMZ instead of using ...

Those commands should all be available on Raspbian (well, particularly sed and mount). Have you tried:

Re: Ubuntu Mate with Raspbian kernel: New Firefox 55.0.1 crashes on startup

@Ignatiamus @guy67400,

I posted a workaround to run Firefox 57 Quantum via MultiArch, although that's only suitable for the Pi 3.

Ironically it's straightforward to do on Ubuntu MATE but would likely be difficult on Raspbian.

Re: Latest Version of Firefox(and Thunderbird) on a Raspberry Pi

See the Ubuntu ticket . Edit: I posted a workaround for Raspbian there: To run with Skia disabled, edit your user profile at ~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/prefs.js and add the following line: user_pref("gfx.content.azure.backends", ""); Firefox 32-bit will then launch on Raspbian Stretch. Or if you h...

Re: Supertuxkart on Raspberry Pi

Runs at ~30 fps on a Pi 3 for me, no overclocking. Well it compiled but runs at less than 1FPS. I know you said you tried OpenGL with full KMS but this really sounds like the typical symptoms of when it's disabled. What framerate does glxgears report? (sudo apt install mesa-utils). If anything less ...

Welcome! Just got a RPI for Christmas and was hoping to use it as a Dos gaming machine. I see people on YouTube playing games like Quake and other Dos games but I am having bad luck so far. Thanks cjan. Sorry that I misread your post. You're building from source on Ubuntu armv7 and using all the same flags? Do you know which of the flags (--disable-elf-hack, -fno-schedule-insns, --disable-stylo) is the key workaround that makes it actually work on Arch Linux armv7? The crash signature ...

Re: Latest Version of Firefox(and Thunderbird) on a Raspberry Pi

All Firefox 57 versions I've tested so far crash on the RPi. weekend, tested arch-build FF-57.0.1 work, all ubuntu-build not work. Yeah. I think the problem that everybody is reporting on Raspbian (or Ubuntu MATE) still persists. But I noticed that Firefox 57 does run successfully on a 64-bit OS, o...

Great, --view=4 --show-plants=0 feels significantly smoother. Glad to have all the other new command line options as well.

On the latest master I get a warning about pg_get_gpu_mem_size() being used before it's declared. It appears config.c should #include pg.h

I took a look at enations_latest/src inside that 800 MB rar file. This project is built on Visual Studio 97 (nmake project files) completely tied to Win32 GDI APIs. Maybe someone will port it to Linux eventually, but it'll be quite an undertaking. A possible path might be to update it to a recent ve...

Re: PiWorld - Craft ported to the Pi

This is awesome. Glad you implemented convenient support for both brcm and Mesa drivers out of the box. With the relatively simple render loop, this makes for a straightforward way to test 3D rendering performance under different scenarios. That had been hard to examine properly with Minecraft Pi Ed...

Re: Quake and Quake III, but not Quake II?

Isn't RetroPie largely limited to the legacy Broadcom driver at this time? Given the OpenGL requirement I think this could work on RetroPie for ODROID, but for Pi we'd need better support for rpi3-mesa.

Re: Q3lite - Quake III Arena for the Raspberry Pi

I got a chance to try it out. Originally when seeing this project I thought this was an update to use the Mesa GLES driver. After all, the existing Raspbian Quake 3 suffers from "failed to add service - already in use?" when full OpenGL+KMS is enabled, and it would be nice to have a modern replaceme...

Outstanding work! https://github.com/squidrpi/pisnes compiled successfully but when running a window opens then closes then returns to the terminal I took a look and it appears to be another instance of the renamed libraries in Stretch causing a GLES mixup.
