Re: Bluetooth Audio

Could you try running 'sudo systemctl stop bluealsa && sudo systemctl disable bluealsa" then rebooting?
Those are the commands I ran to be able to connect and play audio. Make sure to reboot after entering those commands.

If you need more help, just let me know in this thread.
Good luck.

Re: Raspberry Pi bluetooth Automation

So after playing around with my pi for almost three weeks, I found a fix. It's admittedly a crude fix. If i run "sudo rfcomm bind 0 bdaddr" and "sudo rfcomm connect 0 bdaddr ", and then run bluetoothctl <<< $"connect bdaddr" - everything works I get some warning from rfcomm but other than that conne...

Re: Raspberry Pi bluetooth Automation

Hello Douglas6. Sorry for the late response here. I tried what you suggested but it doesn't connect. What I have noticed is that unless I run "scan on" command and wait for my bluetooth device to be found by bluetoothctl, I get a message saying "device <bdaddr> is not available". After I launch blue...

Re: Raspberry Pi bluetooth Automation

Hi Douglas6. By launch time, I meant passing commands as I start bluetoothctl process, instead of first starting the process, entering its shell and then entering commands. That's exactly what I've been thinking- bluetoothctl service is not ready. Any ideas on how I can put a "pause", i.e. a delay b...

Raspberry Pi bluetooth Automation

Hey everyone. I'm using a Rpi 3 with Raspbian Stretch. I am trying to write a script that will scan for bluetooth devices name "XYZ" and then connect to them sequentially, playing some test tones on each. I am using bluetoothctl to connect to each individual device. So when I start bluetoothctl and ...

Re: Bluetooth Audio

Okay so I re-ran the commands and performed a cold boot-up. Now I can successfully pair, connect and stream audio.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Re: Bluetooth Audio

I tried those commands. I got a prompt saying "alsa service removed". After this, I tried connecting and pairing to my speaker. As before I was successful but I couldn't find it in the list of audio sinks. So, I still haven't been able to stream any audio. I tried VLC as well.

Re: Bluetooth Audio

Hello Jamesh. After running an update on my pi, I am now facing a different issue. Like before, I can pair and connect to my bluetooth speaker but this time around, the speaker is not even listed as an audio sink. When I enter "pacmd list-sinks", I do not anymore see the device. using vlc, I couldn'...

Bluetooth Audio

Hi everyone! I am using RPi 3 with Raspbian Stretch. I have been having issues playing audio over my bluetooth speaker. I am able to pair and connect to my bluetooth speaker, and I see it in the list of connected devices. But even after changing the default sink to this bluetooth speaker, I don't he...
