Re: FPS influence possible by writing to sd-card?

Hello, Maybe I should have mentioned that I already do the writes in a separate thread. I just did a test where I only capture the camera in my program, and in a separate shell i run a dd /dev/urandom to a file on my sdcard, and after a few seconds i start to see the frameskips in my program. So I w...

FPS influence possible by writing to sd-card?

Hello, I have an application in C++, and I record 640x480 jpg images to an SD-card on the PI3B+. This works, but sometimes I get some frame skips. The pts timestamps shows a diff of 1800 ms sometimes, so there is a gap there. Now when I record to a tmpfs instead of an sd-card, then I never have thos...

glibc compile options on raspbian9

Hi, I would like to know what options are used on raspbian9 for glibc. This because I'm using another custom distro I made with OpenADK(a buildroot-like system), and now there is a binary library I'd like to use. However, it is precompiled for raspbian9. I have compiled a program which links with th...

Re: RP3 B+ internal wifi as AP unstable

Just a quick update: it really works better with country code set to US so this really is the fix it seems.

Re: Disabling repeated start in the i2c-bcm2835 driver

Thanks! This works for me now...

Only thing: the lidar lite v3 I am using does not show up in i2cdetect, but talking to it works like it used to, so not a real problem for usage.

Re: Disabling repeated start in the i2c-bcm2835 driver

Is there any progress on this? I'm also using the Lidar lite V3 and have this same issue.

Can we work around it by reverting the patch mentioned in the post here?

Best regards,
Tom,

Re: RP3 B+ internal wifi as AP unstable

So don't know if this will be the solution, however, after reading up on various problems people have/had with the wifi, I found this info: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/2619 And there the guy explicitly sets "country_code=US" in his config of hostapd. I didn't have that line in there....

RP3 B+ internal wifi as AP unstable

Hi, I am using the wifi on the RPI3 B+ as a wifi access point, and that works mostly at startup, but sometimes it fails after a while. I am using the kernel with the tag raspberrypi-kernel_1.20180924-1 which is a 4.14.71 kernel. This is the bootup sequence I get with dmesg: # dmesg [ 0.000000] Booti...

Re: Next step after using the pi is...?

Hi, So I want to protect that people just would read my filesystem and then decompile my main application. It contains for instance parameters for some stuff which were found after some extensive testing, so that is my added value then which I have invested time in. Yes that was my plan: use a crypt...

Re: Next step after using the pi is...?

Thanks for all the answers...

I already used the compute module with the baseboard.

What is not clear is how you can protect your IP then, as an answer to that blogpost about the integrator programme points out. If that is not possible, then it is not very attractive.

Next step after using the pi is...?

So, when you have used the pi for some projects, you know it well, it works, great... so then you want to make a commercial product based on it. What board is like the "professional" version of the pi? Are there such boards? Like for example ones that support doing a secure boot to establish a root ...

Hi,

I noticed this discussion and want to ask, due to the last post here, is something like "zymbit" then worth it?

Thanks again!

Re: AGC region of interest

Hi 6by9, did you already find the time to check if this could work? I'm sorry to bother you this way, but it would be nice that I could know if this is my way forward for the AGC.

Re: AGC region of interest

Hi thanks for the effort and explanations in your answers!

I can't seem to make it work with my own code here. The result pretty much looks the same whatever region I try. I'll try to tinker some more, but it should already have worked I think...

Re: AGC region of interest

Are there any restrictions on what you must set for other parameters for this to work. For example, when I set the "exposure metering mode" to "spot" then it is easy to see: pointing my cellphone spotlight exactly in the middle will make the exposure value go down to e.g. 1700 and so image is dark e...

Re: AGC region of interest

Thanks for the answer! I would only need one region really so the default struct would do for me. I am not finding any info on the weights and the mask I should use. It seems this is not described in that page there? And for the x-y-width-height parameters... I am capturing at 640x480 and only want ...

AGC region of interest

Hi, is it possible to have some sort of region of interest that the AGC algorithm would only take into account instead of the whole image? It seems to be possible when looking at the OV5647 datasheet, but I'm not sure if that is relevant because it may be done on the GPU itself? I would like the AGC...

Thanks for this answer!

Just one question then: in some press articles about the "new 8MP pi camera module" you see a lot of times "supports BME-HDR". What is that then in fact? Or is that just not true?

Re: Best approach to HDR photos with camera v2 module (imx219)

What is the current situation with HDR capture on V2.1? So I understand you can't do it by setting some parameter in the mmal, and then you get a HDR image from the preview pin for example? And what are the future plans for making this work? A new camera module(3.0?) or a software upgrade(and is the...

It turns out, that the official USB wifi dongle is the cause of my problems. I changed to an Edimax stick and it suddenly started working okay... I can now continuously reboot using the hardware watchdog and it comes back up without problems.

Re: CM3 always crashes within minutes under load

yes, I meant that people starting from the other ".dts" files were already safe from this bug? As far as I know, it seems the dt-blob-dualcam.dts contains these lines already so I probably should be okay. I also ran stress-ng and the system kept running ok when doing the cpu tests, so...

using the watchdog

Hi, I am using an official raspberry pi 3 IO Board V3.0, and a CM3 2015 V1.0 module on it. Now I am also using the official wifi usbstick plugged into the one-and-only usb port. I was testing the watchdog functionality, and it works, but it doesn't really reset the system it seems. It reboots, then ...

For the other blobs there is no problem, correct? I am using the dt-blob-dualcam.dts file as a basis.
