Can't add SSH folder, Raspbian stretch won't show on my computer.

I have installed '2018-11-13-raspbian-stretch-lite' on pi3 and I can see Pi3 on my router (connected via cable). However, I can't connect to Pi3 via Putty, since SSH is not enabled. I do know that if I want to enable SSH I have to add a few files to boot but I cannot do that because boot won't show ...

I would like to collect data from different sensors (e.g. temperature, humidity, raindrops) and display results live

Hi there, I have a question about Pi3. I would like to collect data from different sensors (e.g. temperature, humidity, raindrops etc.) and display results in live data. What tool or dashboard would you suggest to use in this case? If possible I would like to check live data via computer and mobile ...

Yes the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor is what you should be looking for. No need for any IBM stuff. There are lots of examples of using it on a pi.
Will do more research, thank you!

Re: IoT-Enabled Smart Parking with PI

Unless you have wired power then image recog is currently too power hungry/expensive. However a Bluetooth 5.0 module and VX53L1X laser distance sensor should have low power. As long as the roof height is not much more than 4meters. Pi B+ and ultrasonic wired solution, yep doable. POE Pi3B+ with ima...

IoT-Enabled Smart Parking with PI

Hi guys, I would like to make a project similar to this - https://radiostud.io/iot-enabled-smart-parking-meter-ibm-bluemix-pubnub/ As far I know I could use ultrasonic sensors as shown in the picture. However, my only concern is the coding part. I couldn't find tutorials that would show how to set u...

Re: Is it possible to connect pi3 with sensors and send the data to dashboards (charts, gauge etc.)?

I am sorry, should know this before posting. I will start with simple sensors such as temperature, humidity and light sensor. I will most likely use Python to connect sensors with Pi3. I have done in the past some temperature readings but all results were based in the putty. I also used node-red for...

Is it possible to connect pi3 with sensors and send the data to dashboards (charts, gauge etc.)?

I have found different free dashboards that are available online. What do I have to know if I want to connect pi3 (with different sensors) and display data on the dashboard? How do I do that, since those templates aren't much explaining?

Re: Are Raspberry Pi and other microcontrollers scalable for commercial projects?

Now it makes sense what I was missing.

My question would be if there are any companies that are using Raspberry Pi, Arduino etc. with simple sensors for a commercial use?

Are Raspberry Pi and other microcontrollers scalable for commercial projects?

I have seen many companies that have the smart home technology (Samsung SmartThings, Apple Home, Nest etc.) and usually, its systems have a single hub and different sensors (similar as if I build with Pi3 and sensors) I had a chance to test Samsung SmartThings. It offers different sensors that can b...

Re: Questions related(non) to Raspberry PI

p.s. many sensors come without soldered pins, why do the companies don't solder them? Get Wemos D1s from Aliexpress or Banggood. They're cheapest on there. The headers aren't soldered because you may want to mount them on your own circuit board, you may want header pins, you may want header sockets...

Re: Questions related(non) to Raspberry PI

For easy ESP8266 MQTT get a Wemos D1. Those cost £3.28 from Banggood and they're easier to use with WiFi than any of the cheap Arduinos. MQTT has a ready to play library for Arduino that also works with Wemos https://github.com/knolleary/pubsubclient Thanks, guys for all your replies. I was compari...

Questions related(non) to Raspberry PI

1. What multimeter do you use for your projects? (I have old and big in size, thinking to get something that would suit the size of small microchips like Pi and sensors.) 2. Soldering Iron (again I have an old electric one, which is super old and very heavy) do you use electric or gas? 3. Apart from...

I believe that using your own code gives more flexibility. I found this article and one of the platforms are node-red. https://randomnerdtutorials.com/9-home-automation-open-source-platforms-for-your-projects/ Other platforms are mentioned in that article: -OpenHAB -PiDome -Domoticz -Home assistant ...

PI Backup

Hi there, I have done a few backups already, surprisingly the amount of size increased every time and now the image file size is about 20gb where actually it's only about 10GB total used (if I check the used size correctly). Why is the image file almost twice its actual size? Is there any way to shr...

Re: Questions about Pi3 , Node-Red and MQTT

Perhaps I have to add some pull up resistors? Although I read that PI has built in for this specific GPIO's. Or should I contact Raspberry PI manufacturers for this case? All i2c related topics/tutorials are to the older versions of the Raspbian OS. Could someone advise please on this, what would be...

Thank you guys! I have tried different tutorials and forums where people had same/similar issues with i2c but still I can't solve this problem. I tried two different BMP180 Digital Barometric Pressure Sensor modules and even IIC/12C/TWI 1602 Serial LCD module None of them showed up on the i2c detect...
