Re: RPI-1(B) WiFi nl80211

Hi, Thank you. I tried downloading manually first as that is the last update. I have also looked in the script suggested around option -c, standing for check. The script is nicely written. -c option performs this check, it pipes the output of lsusb to grep -i checking for particular drive no:id. Min...

Re: RPI-1(B) WiFi nl80211

Hi, I have installed `8188eu.ko', from `8188eu-4.14.71-1145.tar.gz'. Module is not loaded on boot. Running modprobe 8188eu loads the module, but still no `wlan0' device created. Also it seems a module of similar name is part of Stretch install... /lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8188efw.bin /lib/firmware/rt...

Hi, Having read the sticky note anbout WiFi Dongle, still no luck. lsmod, only reports cfg80211, rfkill loaded, no `rlt8..' on the list of loaded modules. `firmware-realtek' installed, no relatek module `rlt8...' loaded hence no `wlan0' created, probably. lsusb onkly gives this info 0bda:f179 Realte...

RPI-1(B) WiFi nl80211

Hi, I got nl80211 USB wireless module for my older RPI-1 model B, and I cannot get it working. RPI runs Stretch lite version of 2018-10-09. lsusb reports device as `0bda:f179' Realtek Semiconductor. Re: rpi3 fails to boot

Hi, I am now able to reproduce failed boot with each RPI3 power on / reset. Having read this forum, I notice most people refer to the same problem, under different topics, boot freze, cannot boot, etc. New `bootcode.bin' here, https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/...

rpi3 fails to boot it either complains of init cannot be found, or some of EXT4_FS inodes cannot be read.

Hi, On some occasions raspberry fails to boot, it either complains of init cannot be found, or some of EXT4_FS inodes cannot be read, while FSCK on root device does not report any problems. It happens after regular shut down when the machine is on standby for a day or so. Then after power on, or res...

anacron systemd service - stretch

Hi, I have installed `anacron' service on `stretch', sometimes it attempts to run before rootfs is checked and mounted, possible? Hi,

Yes I see, /etc/fstab gives order (fs_passno) in which the partitions are checked. What I miss is fsck.log in /var/log, does not exist on my system.

mouse weeller does not scroll

Hi,

My mouse does not scroll using the middle weel button. This has been the case since certain version of raspbian, I now run latetest `stretch' but I remember sometime around `wheezy' version the scroller worked just fine.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Re: No HDMI output after power outage

Although I can use my old PI1 over Composite Video, the CPU is unusually hot, some 85 dgC, at standard 700MHz, before outage I have run at turbo mode for a few years.

Is this just aging symptom due to overclock?

Many thanks.

Hi,

I have also found these two mp3 files useful to test with omxplayer.
Tarball will extract to Downloads folder.

$ tar -xzf sounds.tgz
$ omxplayer ~/Down*/left.mp3
$ omxplayer ~/Down*/right.mp3

Hi,

I just played this mp4 test file using `omxplayer', it is left-right stereo test mp4 stream.
It just plays stereo, so no problem at all.

Analog Audio No Stereo?

Hi,

How do I set analog audio to output stereo sound on PI3 B?
I use amplified speakers powered from USB.

$ aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Side_Left.wav
$ aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Side_Right.wav

The above plays to both channels on PI3 B, while on PI1 B played left or right.
Many thanks

Re: No HDMI output after power outage

Hi,
In the safe mode HDMI output is blinking on for a sec and then off, same behavior as with the earlier image before, that was suggested as possibly having corrupted file system. Also when screen image appears it has sort of pin stripe pattern.
Many thanks
