Re: Camera module! (And a picture of JamesH)

It's 5MP. Release date is pretty up in the air - we have the camera working on the latest PCB's but there is other stuff we also need to get working and some example software to write. I think we hope to have something by Xmas at the latest. However, Gert's very busy, as are many of the others who ...

Re: Status update

We've nearly run out of October, so just wondering if there's an updated time-frame for the camera module being released?

Re: Gertboard shipping date.

There isn't a definitive date. There's been a delay (Gert is most un-chuffed about it, it's out of his hands) Hi James. Can you explain what's going on, please? I've seen nothing from Gert recently - not that I'd really expect him to be apologozing for Farnell's poor communication. If someone "in t...

Re: lead times

I "registered interest" on Wed 8th - when someone noticed that Farnell's had just listed them - and before the "Gertboard is here!" announcement. I received a "Coming Soon Notification" immediately after, but nothing since. No opportunity to place an order, and no expected delivery date. Err... Hel...

Re: Built-to-spec case?

Something I noticed when I was clearing out soem trash form my room when I came across the envelope from the built-to-spec case, the shipping from Kansas City MO to me was $3.14  Hmm... that sucks. Hate it when a seller inflates their postage costs just to line their pockets. Selling an item f...

Re: Camera module! (And a picture of JamesH)

Very interested in this. Cameras are a good way of introducing interaction with the real world, and this opens up all sorts of potential uses for the Pi, both in the classroom and out of it. I guess it would be useful to be able to judge the level of demand. Is there someway of officially registerin...

Re: Built-to-spec case?

Craig has said he's probably going to list a clear variant case in his store next week.

I'm just wondering about the ventilation issue: could someone that's actually got this case and their Pi post a reply about this?

How hot does the case get? Any sign of overheating around the CPU?

Re: Full Contained Self Powered Pi

That was my first thought as well.. ORAC was a masterpiece of forward thinking. :D So how to make a Pi produce THAT Orac sound when booting up. I know nothing - can this be done? (Sorry - wrong thread to ask that!) Still I LOVE TMFS's case. And I can't believe it's made of scrap! (Who has scrap lik...

Official Case?

Just wondering if there's any news on the "official case": when it will be available, what it will be like, how much it will cost, how long we'll have to wait to receive one(!) I must admit I rather like the some of the clear plastic acrylic cases, but none of them seem ideal. Some seem to have misu...

Re: Order and Shipping update from RS & Allied

I think Montala has hit the nail on the head. I must admit I was feeling v. annoyed that I hadn't recieved my Pi yet, because (1) the original lead time in the order confirmation email and (2) the estimated delivery dates at the start of this thread both indicated that I should have recieved it by n...
