Re: USB Device attached but no /dev/ttyUSB

Looks like the problem was down to the RPI Firmware. I was sure I had updated it but obviously not. Once I had updated it then it all worked and the device was available.

USB Device attached but no /dev/ttyUSB

Up till recently my PI was working fine but then my SD car corrupt. Not sure how but the filesystem was screwed. As a result I have just been rebuilding my setup again (as I didn't have a whole SD backup) To make sure power supply was not the cause I upgrade to using a ModMyPi 4 Port USB hub (with 2...

Re: Motion - MMAL camera

This looks to work quite well. It worked quite well while testing it with the RPi in a room but then I moved it so it was showing an outside picture. After this due to the high brightness the picture seems to cycle in brightness i.e. start at black, brigher..brighter, very bright and then back to bl...

mosquitto causing kernel PREEMPT errors?

Anyone else using mosquitto and having problems with kernel problems ? I was hoping for the Pi to be the base of a system based around pubsub but it keeps crashing :( Any ideas?? Does this look like a raspbian or mosquito issue? Jul 27 14:24:47 raspberrypi kernel: [ 2566.743205] Unable to handle ker...

Re: Node.js v0.8.x

funny you should say about it not compiling, I was just struggling to get it to compile myself on Raspbian but failed. Would much appreciate any work to get it working on the latest build (worked fine on wheezy)

Perfect - That solved the problem. I guess the c application was setting the baud on the port for me.

Re: Strange Perl USB intialisation problem

9600 seems to be right for the CurrentCost meter. Quite a few at work have them and have the same settings.

Seems to be something to do with Wheezy/Pi rather than running on a more traditional x86/Ubuntu type install

Strange Perl USB intialisation problem

I am trying to interface with my CurrentCost meter. I have a strange problem where by if I try and connect to the CurrentCost meter (connected to the USB port) using perl, it will occasionally get data but its corrupt or more mormally it doesn't get any data. Below is a copy of the simplified code I...
