Running Python script automatically permission problems

Hello, I am trying to run a program named Probemon.py to scan the immeditae environment for WIFI probe requests and consequently grab the MAC addresses and manufacturers of these devices as part of a security CCTV system on the Raspberry Pi 3. However, I am having a lot of difficulty in automating t...

Port forwarding

So I have the interface running on my local network into an Android phone, and I need to be able to access it from outside. I'm guessing port forwarding is the solution but I don't know how to set this up, does anybody know about this? Thanks.

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hello, yes I did mean the PIR sensor...thank you for your clarification I did not think that motion detection could be achieved without this piece of hardware. Okay now I will need to find a way to send the video start and stop commands when the PIR fires, if anybody has any pointers it would be app...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I have the interface up and running it's excellent, the only problem is that clicking the motion detection start button and then triggering the PIR sensor does start the video recording. However, this does not switch off and simply continues to record video indefinitely. Does anybody know how to fix...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hello, I have the interface running and it is excellent, and currently I have a username and password authentication for security. I am currently wondering if there are any additional security measures that could be employed? One thought was to access the browser by ssh. Does anybody have any sugges...

NoIR CCTV system storage for live video

Hello, I am doing a CCTV project using a Raspberry Pi 3 and a NoIR camera, and was wondering about the possibility of using a hard drive (such as the Pi Drive) to store the live streaming video to allow for longer records to be kept for a small business owner for example. I have been informed that t...

Re: Security System - PIR Motion, PiCamera, GMail

There is a nice tool called "Python Beautify" over @ Dan's Tools website, simply paste in the code and it will indent it for you.

Re: CCTV Doorbell System

Thank you for such a detailed response, I now have quite a lot to work with. With the fact that the remote screen methods are going to be problematic, I am thinking of the possibility of having a PIR motion sensor instead which will use a script to take photographs of whoever is at the door, or perh...

CCTV Doorbell System

Hello, I am working on a CCTV Doorbell System and am planning on having remote access to the camera system, probably using VNC or SSH with X-forwarding, and think that I need to set up a static IP address on my Raspberry Pi. Does anybody know whether this is absolutely necessary, and if so what is t...
