Trying to use guizero and turtle

My goal is to do some simple drawing based on data entered in a form. The drawing could be done in a separate window or within a box created by guizero. I know both guizero and turtle are based on tkinter, but I don't know much about tkinter. The program below does what I expected, once, but then sh...

Re: guizero - Strange behavior with two windows

This issue has been kicked around here: https://github.com/lawsie/guizero/issue ... -362719253.

The work-around suggested by coal0 works as far as I can tell.

Re: guizero - Strange behavior with two windows

Hi Scottie, Thanks for the insight into this. I was wondering if guizero was just implementing the bad behavior of tkinter. I also noticed these anomalies in the second window: - String is not read from a TextBox - Text is not shown in a PushButton, but the command is executed on a click event - Com...

guizero - Strange behavior with two windows

This very useless program shows one of several problems I have when putting certain widgets in a second window. Note the event handler gets triggered, but only reports a value of 0 and not 1. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this? from guizero import * def check(): print(cbX.value) window1...

Re: Python IDE

Another vote for PyCharm. In addition to syntax checking, it also implements the PEP8 style guide. Also, it has built-in integration with git and GitHub.

guizero - Any problem with anonymous widgets

I've been teaching guizero in an Intro to Programming course this semester and am encouraged how well students are picking it up. I have developed the style of not naming widgets that have no references in the program, like: Text(app, title="Just a Label") This creates less clutter in the code, whic...

Re: guizero - refresh text display

Thanks for posting the example. This is exactly what I was trying to do. I would like to understand this statement better: text.after(1000, update_label) I understand that after 1000 milliseconds, the function update_label is called, but why is it executed on the widget "text". Can ".after" be appli...
