Re: problem running qemu on osx

I've tried to get qemu running following the guide here: http://www.rpiforum.net/forum/tutorials/article/16-a-raspberry-pi-emulated-environment-on-osx-lion/ and have the same problem in OS X 10.7.5. Has anyone successfully got qemu running on Lion? Is there some necessary step or patch that's missin...

Re: Skype on RPi?

Updated the wiki with instructions on how to make calls using a USB soundcard: http://elinux.org/RPi_Using_Skypekit I have been trying but getting stuck all the time  Yeah, it's not easy. Hopefully the new guide should help; if you're still having problems, post up here or look for me on #raspb...

In the interests of reducing thread redundancy, a few of us have been discussing SkypeKit over in this thread with some success.

Thanks! I've just added another section to the wiki page with a guide on how to use the SDK to make a test call to the Pi. Which is about as far as I've got with SkypeKit for the time being ;)

Re: Skype on RPi?

I've started documenting at http://elinux.org/RPi_Using_Skypekit . I'll go back and write the missing two sections over the weekend. Currently trying to get voicepcmhost-rtaudio to compile, to try making voice calls. I've downloaded & built RtAudio from http://www.music.mcgill.ca/~gary/rtaudio/, but...

Re: Skype on RPi?

So I was able to get a bit further. I am now at the stage that I can start Skypekit and send and receive chat messages (my primary target) The next step is to see what happens if I make a call to the RasPi Are you using loopback PCM Host device? Yes I do, I compiled it on the RasPi, since I have no...

My Pi arrived today, woo! I'm going to start fiddling with SkypeKit straight away.

Maybe we should start putting some info together on the Wiki?

Re: Skype on RPi?

Ah, thanks for the mic info. The words 'Developer Program' up there ^^ link to Skype's developer site, but it's not so obvious, so here's the link again: http://developer.skype.com/public/skypekit We're interested in 'Skypekit for Embedded' with the ARM runtime. You'll need to sign up for the Develo...

Re: Skype on RPi?

I've been looking into this, since I have a Skype-based project in mind. Skype have a Developer Program , which makes available a runtime called Skypekit for ARM devices. This means that if there's a runtime available which will run on the Pi's particular ARM11 chip, then it would be possible to bui...

<t>You guys should really check out Inform for creating text adventures - is a joy to make stuff in it. Essentially, you describe the game world in English, a lot like actually playing the things. <t>Interesting. asb, I'm assuming from the similar usernames that's your video?<br/> <br/> Since you said that you just grabbed them from apt with no further tinkering, I'm guessing that ScummVM and OpenTTD are using SDL to draw to X.<br/> <br/> Which makes things sound promising for a DOSBox port, ...

<t>Hello! I'm Henry and I live in London. I've been mucking about with computers since early fiddlings with Spectrums & the school BBC Micros (and later Archimedes, what a machine). These early fiddlings gradually turned into making websites & programming for a living, which has continued to...

Okay, thanks scep. I have been known to do a little Wordpress hacking from time to time – would this be a useful enough feature to be worth attempting to implement?

<t>Is it possible to do this retrospectively if you haven"t posted in that thread?<br/> <br/> I"ve just been poking around looking for LCD screen discussions. One thread on the subject has been tagged usefully, but there are a few others that haven't. If I could have tagged the other useful threads ...
