Re: Preconfigured Airplay speaker (Shairport) - Rasp. Pi Ima

Hi danico, As long as the sound works after you reboot, it should be fine! What you can try is to to find the configuration file manually by executing: sudo find / -name asound.conf If you can't find it, perhaps it's not automatically created. In that case you can create it manually. I did add the t...

Re: State of h.264 hi10p (High 10 Profile) - compatibility?

Is it possible we will be seeing hi10p compatibility on the Pi? No. Never. There doesn't exist a single hardware hi10p decoder on any platform. It can only be decoded with a high specced general purpose PC. The Pi (or any ARM device) is not suitable if you want to use hi10p files. :( I was hoping t...

Hi, unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I've installed the image but Honey or Twonky in Android or Airfoil in a PC don't see my Pi to send sound. What can i do? Thx Are you using a wifi dongle? I am releasing a new version later this week which will have a better startup script for using wifi don...

State of h.264 hi10p (High 10 Profile) - compatibility?

I'm using Raspbmc and despite the XBMC wiki* saying it's not possible, playing back h.264 hi10p content works without lag. The only issue is that you can see visible artifacts inbetween keyframes of the video. It seems like this would be a minor thing to fix. Is it possible we will be seeing hi10p c...

Re: AirPi static noise

there is a 9 second delay (when i set it to audio engine) and a 14 second delay on normal settings. Is there a way to make that fewer seconds delay? My delay with Raspbmc is about 5-6 seconds. Is your Pi on wifi? The reason for the delay is a buffer. You want to keep it so the song doesn't skip. (A...

Edit the file:

Code: Select all

/etc/init.d/shairport
Change the following line:

Code: Select all

NAME="My Shairport"
Save file and reboot.

Re: Preconfigured Airplay speaker (Shairport) - Rasp. Pi Ima

Double Twist have released an open version of AirPlay called MagicPlay. There is a guide from one of the developers on how to get MagicPlay running on the Pi. http://nanocr.eu/2013/07/02/amplify-your-music-with-magicplay/ That's interesting! Maybe there will be a separate build for that later. But ...

I have a similar splitter and had no luck with Shairport :( really frustrating: - using analog audio everything OK - using HDMI + splitter with local files or web radios OK - using HDMI + splitter + shairport: the audio stream is fine until the first interruption (say you select another song). I strongly recommend you do what is said here so as to get the best audio from your RPi. I haven't been able to test it yet (need to buy another RPi, first one has RasPlex on it: great stuff), but it sounds like some of you could get more from you RPi by doig so! Re: Preconfigured Airplay speaker (Shairport) - Rasp. Pi Ima

There's a lot of interesting stuff happening on the Shairport Github: https://github.com/abrasive/shairport/commits/1.0-dev It looks like a new stable version will be released shortly. When that happens this build will be updated. I can't seem to find much in the changelog, do you now what's new? H...

Re: Popping noise on analog output

I'm setting up Shairport (Airplay emulator) on the Pi and noticing distortion/audio crackle with the built-in analogue audio output. The high frequencies (treble) seems to be affected. Things like hi-hats in a song. I've tried adjusting the volume in alsamixer but the distortion is the same regardle...

If you were running the wheezy beta ( http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/1435 ), do you need to manually upgrade to this build?

Or can I just run apt-get update && apt-get upgrade to get all the improvements available in this build?
