Just one small correction, PATH is obviously set while running cron tasks, so full path to commands are not necessary. PATH is set to the system default (/bin and /usr/bin, I think) OK, sorry for my mistake. Full path has to be set for ifconfig because /sbin is not in PATH. I correct my answer.

Thanks for your answers, I implemented pcmanbob's one and it works fine.
