Re: Rpi with onboard EMMC storage

Now there seems to be (an indeed very expensive) raspberry with on board eMMc: The official website is https://revolution.kunbus.com/ It is around 200 euro's and for industrial applications. But for some applications (e.g. my heating with a webserver) I think it might be worth it... Too bad there is...

Re: Booting Raspberry Pi From USB Flash Drive

I was wondering if this could be done trough SSH as well? I mean after the deletion of the Linux partition, will it still reboot with the SSH enabled?

Re: Read/Write cycles of a SD card

I have had about a dozen different Raspi's running a LAMP server to control heatings, lights and a solar collector (solarair.livotel.com) from a distance. They al used a SD card, and the SQL was reading/writing about every minute or more... Al of them failed about after 6 to 12 months... I think it ...

Re: SD Card replacement with on-board memory ?

I guess I was an early adopter with the PI, and have used several versions to build a LAMP-server that then controls different items accessible over the internet. I have used them for remote switching on the heating, or a remote switchable extension cord, and even a specific solar collector (www.sol...

Re: edit crontab

I was trying to get a crontab going, and had some problems as well. Even if one does the crontab -e and saves by CTRL-O, and then leaves properly with the CTRL-X, it still does not update the crontab. One has to specific leave with the CTRL-x without saving first, and then say 'yes' to the prompt to...

Re: Length for Temperature Sensor

To extend the cable to a temperature sensor for the Raspberry, what I have successfully done is to lower the pull-up resistor. I was trying to extend the cable to about some 30 feet myself, and it did not work with the 4,7k resitor so I hooked my oscilloscoop to see what was going on. There I could ...
