Re: Raspberry Pi os 64 bit is useful if having less of 8gb of ram?

Yeah, I would second the advice to wait. Even in "big" desktop computer 32bit still, mostly, just fine. Maybe in the future 64bit will make a difference for the Pi, but actually 32bit still offers the best "normal" desktop experience. To be honest I think 32bit will remain the standart for major par...

Re: RPi4 freezes after last (today) update

Hi!

After the recent apt upgrade the issue is gone. Thank you very much for the rescue :D

(About the warnings I also noticed. Should we worry about these warnings?)

Best and take care!

Re: RPi4 freezes after last (today) update

I am using a Pi 4, Raspbian Buster with no "frankendebian" repos or packages; just one hdmi screen, 1280x1024. I can reproduce the issue with clean recent raspbian images and my "old" upgraded one (my current raspbian system). I had sucess for a while restoring the /boot from older image, but the is...

Hi! yey, seems to be same issue I posted on the thread about beta USB mass storage boot... I confirm that. If you restore your /boot with a 2 week old image /boot content, the issue is gone. EDIT: Forget it, the issue still present. I have no more wifi drops but the system freezes when browsing the ...

Pi is already a world wide community. So, please, I ask you from my heart, do not say "If you don't need it, don't b...

Re: Should I buy 8Gb Model

Hi! Honestly, even with all the love we have for the Pi's, the 8GB version is not that useful for a normal user. If we stick to the Raspberry Pi OS (Raspbian sounds better, I cannot deny that :D ) and its desktop tweaks and etc, we never have a memory issue for real. I use my Pi 4gb version for seri...

Re: System freezes when using Youtube-Chromium (raspbian) (and wifi drops constantly)

Hi, I've found the problem: a mess with data in the SD card + faulty reading of the SD place. I'm using a hybrid boot for USB storage. I managed to identify the problem testing the system in a rpi 3b+ and "stretching" (before boot) the SD card in the place when in rpi4. A full restore of /boot in th...

Re: System freezes when using Youtube-Chromium (raspbian) (and wifi drops constantly)

Yes I did. The freezing issue happens only when in chromium browsing youtube and it is a total system freeze.

The wifi dropping happens all the time under any circumstances.

Hi, I suppose that but it doesn't seem to be the case. It has been working just fine for 6 months with almost 0% connection drop and then since yesterday it became a poor connection? Hmm, strange... The major problem still the freezing issue that, oh gods, I cannot indentify what is it about! I use ...

System freezes when using Youtube-Chromium (raspbian) (and wifi drops constantly)

Hi! Yesterday my pi4 (4gb) just started to freeze when browsing Youtube. I cannot kill X or reboot the pi nicely but have to power cut it. I have been troubleshooting this all day and I have no ideia what is happening. The freezing happens randomly only when in youtube and there is no difference whe...

Re: Sane-backends 1.28 or above

Hi!
Thanks for the answer.

Yes it is supposed to be there and it is -- but it doesn't work at all.

I switched OSes to make a final test and under Manjaro and Ubuntu, with newer sane-backends, it just works fine out-of-the-box. So there is something faulty in debian versions. :(

Sane-backends 1.28 or above

Hi! I'm looking for the best way to upgrade sane-backends [ above 1.27 ] in raspbian. I'm not sure how I should do it. A simple .deb could do if the dependencies could be satisfied (that is why I am unsure). And there is no .deb for 1.28 or 1.29 versions. The reason to upgrade is because my scanner ...

ahnmm...

Advice from an addictive Rpi 3B+ fan?

Just try the official Buster image (I mean, the Rpi foundation official image). Use etcher and, friend, you're going to have a very smooth experience there. This is the official, secure and best way for a desktop experience with your Rpi.

Hi, It is not phantom-power capable, but Pisound is really, in my opinion, the best audio HAT for profissional recording purposes (ADC). There is no XLR input, but there is a high quality p10 stereo Input (6,35 mm TRS). Actually I am recording 2 microphones through a split cable (2 XLR > 1 stereo P1...
