Re: Raspbian vs Pidora??

An updated version of Raspian has been produced, as you can see it in the mirrors. I don't know why it's not on the website yet though.

Wireless Repeater (OBSOLETE OLD INFO!)

I need to increase the range of my wifi network, and, rather than buy an expensive range extender or wireless bridge, I was thinking of doing this with the R-Pi.

Could anyone let me know if this is possible?

Japanese input

Is there anyway to input Japanese characters into a terminal (not an emulator under X)? I'm currently using jfbterm to display the charaters, but I cannot input any, which means that I have to start up X just to play a video file in omxplayer.

Re: GUI Video Player

Thanks. Unfortunately this isn't really what I'm looking for. I really need to be able to play the video in a window, so that I can do other stuff as well. For this reason, xbmc is also out, unless it is possible to run that windowed? Otherwise, does anyone know if there are plans for a full GUI med...

GUI Video Player

Are there any media players that run under X? I'm wanting to play 1080p video, so it would have to be hardware accelerated. At the moment, I am using omxplayer; but it would be better to have a GUI like mplayer's.

Re: Cube Engine Games

Thanks. There is an old copy of Cube that was compiled to run (it appears) on Windows CE and OpenGL ES. Would it be easy to re-compile that for the R-Pi, or how easy would it be to re-write the code for the current version?

(I'm a novice when it comes to programming).

Re: Cube Engine Games

I cannot get it to run anywhere near a usable speed. Every movement takes about 5 minutes to be produced on screen. I have tested Cube on an old Pentium 100MHz computer, and it was usable if quality controls are set to their lowest settings, so something else must need to be done to run on the R-Pi....

Re: Cube Engine Games

I have now managed to get Cube to compile and run, though way to slowly to be useful, I will attempt modifying the game's settings, and post back with instructions if it works fast enough.

Cube Engine Games

I am trying to run and compile Cube or AssaultCube (I tried Sauerbraten, but it is too slow to be useful). I know that Cube should be able to work, as it can run on 1st-gen iPod touches, with are far less powerful than the R-Pi, however, when I run make, I get the following output: make -C ../enet a...
